I know nothing about what the Feds could possibly do so I hope some of FR’s more informed and post and clear this up for me.

We need real FR lawyers to chime in here. What can the Feds do in a case in Chicago where the judge has already sealed everything? I don’t want to hear about possible mail fraud because of the bogus letter Jussie sent himself. That’s not what President Trump is implying. He is saying the Feds are going to look at corruption in Chicago, no? How can they do that?

If he sent the letter to himself, he created a Federal crime.

Didn’t he send a threatening letter with white powder to that tv show he was on? Wouldn’t that make it a federal deal?

I’m of two minds about this whole case.

In a normal society, a man who beat himself up in a ploy for fake sympathy and publicity would simply be laughed at and considered mentally ill, especially since his accusations were targeted at no one in particular

But because of the very dangerous concept of “hate crimes” and politicization of literally everything, this is now a Federal case, both because of his fakery - as well as the reaction to it.

Good. Someone in a higher position of authority has to look into this. Letting this man off the hook from 16 felony charges, before a trial was even convened, is corruption at its worst.

Yes, Aggregated Mail Fraud with the terrorist implications of the contents.

What’s that awful, nasty, rotten fish-like smell with this case?
Why it’s the “heels-up, knees wide” KamalToe....Willie’s mattress.
Oh, and the Odongos get honorable mention as well.

“I know nothing about what the Feds could possibly do..”

There’s the small matter of mailing an envelope full of white powder to himself and then lying about it to the FBI. The USPS takes a very dim view of that and they are not the least bit amused. It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that there’s a Federal Grand Jury already hearing evidence on this.

And given the events of the last few days I’d seriously doubt that they are amused about this either. The Chicago PD is seriously pissed and I’m quite sure a few folks are quietly feeding everything they know to the Feds.

If Smollet were smart, and he’s not, he would slink off quietly never to be heard from again. But he’s not smart. Poking the bear is very stupid as one Jesse Jackson, Jr. and his idiot wife can attest.

I hate clicking on a DJT tweet, because of the nasty tweets that these idiots always post in response.

They must have no job, and just wait for Trump to tweet so that they can immediately post a reply.

What makes it different is faking a terrorist attack with the white powder that was supposed to be like anthrax.

This makes it no different than the guy in Florida who is accused of sending fake bombs that could not detonate.

Good.
Because letting him off sends a message to people that one can assault conservatives, and as long as they claim to be a member of a, “Protected,” class, NOTHING will be done about it.
It sets a dangerous example.

Stay armed, FRiends.

This may be the result of an internecine battle between camp Clinton and camp Obama.

It was always a strained coalition - not unlike the AOC/Pelosi struggle.

My guess is that the Chicago cops have evidence of others who are involved. I would not be surprised if they’d have proof that jussie was communicating with Horizontal Harris before this, and have proof he was communicating with Kim Fox afterwards.

I suppose the feds can 'look' at anything they like. Whether they can exert any degree of federal law enforcement capacity in this area, is an open question.
