GenPop bad.

The whole short bus got offloaded into the Free Republic petting zoo trying to touch a goat.

The little, short, fat and mean bastards want to hurt the animals and spoil it for everyone else.

Trying to put anything into their decrepit gray heads is like trying to push toothpaste into a coconut.

*TexOkie, I need some help here. I’m sitting in the old chair in the corner of the garage of the Qabin. Stewing.

It is nearly impossible to tell anyone anything that doesn’t fit their pre conceived notions.

That’s why the Socratic method works better. Also, people are rather like bank accounts. They need to have positive deposits(interactions) built up, before they are hit with dissenting view.

Dissenting views are likely to be rejected if they are phrased and perceived as a statement that they are wrong and you are right.

Sometimes they just have to live in their ignorance until reality gives them a swift kick in the rear.

At any rate, I’ll be darned if I let anything anyone says on the internet make me stew. They aren’t worth the stress to my health. Just my take on things. YMMV

Did you go out beyond the trees again?

*texokie drags out a rump sprung rocking chair and raids the cooler, hands Kit J one, and sits and rocks with a cold one while they look out at the lake. Quiet reigns. Then Qanteen Qatz and Dawgz gather round and lend their special kind of comfort. ransomnote, our Mother of Dragons (and Dragonlets) who had been hiking past the cabin, joins them with a comfortable lawn chair and a cold drink. Texokie opines,*

*Mother of Dragons adjusts her chair cushion and bends over her large back pack. She fishes out a couple of sweaters and hands one each to Kit J and texokie. Kit J smiles. In her most comforting voice, Mother of Dragons says:*

It’s getting cool. Here. Put these on. Oh those poor souls beyond the trees have been playing Charlie Brown with Lucy and the football for too long. They probably have had their ability to believe that they will actually get to kick the ball finally killed.... right at the time that Lucy actually WILL hold it! Who can truly blame them, though. I know if we had not chanced on Q, we would probably be terrible old cynics too. God bless them anyway....

* texokie shrugs into the welcome sweater, leans back and swallows. Kit J drapes his over his shoulders. texokie and Mother of Dragons (and Dragonlets) and KitJ and the Furry FReeQs enjoy the stillness, and watch the kids playing on the dock of the lake. Our hearts hurt for the people who have been damaged in their spirits for so many decades, especially some of the best and longest serving Patriots. *

*But we do remember, God is in charge. The Patriots are in charge. Maybe the thick hearts and heads of the ones beyond the trees can once more begin to hope. We look and hope for that. But in the meantime, the rocking chair is comforting in its rhythm, and the Qatz’ purring makes the sound of liquid gold.*
