Why did Mueller release his report and terminate his investigation now?

Posted on 03/24/2019 5:20:30 PM PDT by A Cyrenian

This thing never had a time line to meet. It looked like it was going to last in to 2020.

Why did he stop now?

Does he need to be investigated and found guilty of his crimes?

The timing is sufficient to allow the planned counter-attack prior to next year’s full-on campaign season. As of today, there’s a lot of
sweatin’ going on ‘round here.
I do believe there is a sense of urgency to reclaim
national faith in the rule of law.

I’m guessing if you are about to write a report, you stop investigating.
So when did he really stop ?
How long does it take to write a report ?
When did the lawyers\investigators start leaving Mueller’s team ?

“Why did Mueller ... terminate his investigation now?”
Good Lord, I thought it should have been over 18 months ago.
All he’s done is foot drag.

Well. That is just awful language.

Sigh. Still it is very difficult for me to write their names without curing.

Barr held Mueller to a professional standard, and Mueller struggled with it. He had nothing and had to fold.

As I said to a friend, "investigate until we find a crime" is a tactic from the Soviet Union.

There's another angle to this that I mentioned as an outlandish possibility....

I don't think it outlandish at all although I'm sure that Trump was pi$$ed that it took so long that it cost the Republicans the midterms. The other outlandish possibility is the one that LS advanced at about the time that Mueller was appointed.... I'm hoping that he will post about what his thoughts are now.

I think something very much bigger is on the horizon. Something both American Democrats (greedy grafters) and Republicans are both more concerned about is a year out. IDJ what it is. If Dems completely fold then you know it’s the truth.

The real question is : why not a long, long time ago, when the truth was so obviously apparent.

I believe that Mueller abrupt conclusion was due to a dirty little secret.

That dirty little secret was General Michael Flynn. Keep in mind that Gen. Flynn’s supposed sentencing has been delayed time and time again.

So what is it about this Gen. Flynn. Well, so happens that Gen Flynn was the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2012 to 2014. If you think the FBI and CIA are clouded in darkness, the DIA is a black holes, What they know would probably scare most people, including this guy Mueller.

It is around 2012 when the Uranium One deal was beginning to get some attention. Most certainly a deal to relinquish 25 percent of our uranium to fall under control of Russia would have been of interest to our defense dept. The FBI Director at the time this deal went down? Robert Mueller.

Whatever evidence of wrongdoing that may have ben uncovered by investigative reporters and the NY Times probably pales in comparison to what the DIA knows.

Its probable that Gen Flynn threw out a few tidbit regarding kickbacks and money transfers that occurred around 2012.

I imagine Gen Flynn is at home tonight sitting back in his recliner with a big smile on his face.

The only way coup co-conspirators, high treason co-conspirators, lay down their arms is if they are assured of a clean getaway. Complete with pensions, etc.

Enter Bill Barr.

I would say it was the AG actually doing his job.

If only the former AG would have, this could have been over years ago. Or maybe never started in the first place.

But Jeff's dear democrat friends and colleagues told him to roll over and play dead and he did so.

Which leads back to why I am in favor of term limits. After two terms 90% of them become -Swamp.

Mueller and his corrupt crew knew that the tide had turned against them, esp. with the deliberately covered-up Hillary Servergate and UraniumGate investigations by the more corrupt DOJ/FBI gang.

They also knew that the FISAgate issue was going to blow up in their faces because they failed to reveal it as a Democrat Party “coup attempt” that violated federal laws, and they didn’t want to be caught up in any grand jury or congressional investigations. Rats abandoning a stinking, sinking ship at night.

Also, the personal coziness of some of the Mueller gang with Democrats (I do not consider a $250 donation something to worry about. It was the bigger figured donations that created something of a Hatch Act/IRS problem for them).

The Mueller crew began to see that Michael Cohen had lied so much that if they relied on one thing he said, it could have been false, and they would get skewered for not investigating it thoroughly (and clearing Trump AT THAT TIME).

Cohen wasn’t in Prague. PERIOD. After that, it’s all over.

The criminal misbehavior, unethical misbehavior, and corrupt misbehavior of those the crew were talking to and relying on for “evidence” (McCabe, Strzok-Page, Ohrs, Yates, Comey, Brennan?, Clapper, etc) made their positions are neutral investigators almost impossible (a truly honest investigator would have quit months ago, or even years ago).

They knew that they would be professionally tarnished for the rest of their lives unless they bailed early, or cleared the President of “Russian collusion”, “Yellow showers”, and asking Putin for Hillary’s emails (which was not just a joke, but possibly a valid request).

Mueller’s gang will forever be marked with a “Scarlet Letter”, and they deserve it. Next stop, congressional hearings and a grand jury investigation into why they failed to professionally do their jobs, not calling key witnesses (Carter Page), not questioning Steele about his sources and paymasters, not digging into Fusion GPS’s role in all this, not questioning the DNC for their role/money in the fake Dossier, etc.

This group was more like a “Marx Brothers” fiasco than a professionally run DOJ operation.

And I don’t think the end of the story of this corruption/unethical and unprofessional investigation is finished re our side. Far from it.
