POTUS has always said—TOTALLY ACCURATELY—that we are in the position of strength with respect to Chinese trade. The Republicans who cannot comprehend this simply do not understand business, and are not qualified IMO. (Well ... The key is the Venez military though, and I’ll bet operatives are there working on that. You have to promise them support if they break away. That’s where our military could come into play. Peacekeeping force, joint with the UN perhaps. Which means the blue helmets stay out of the way but give us international permission slip.
