Police on Wednesday picked up two men at O’Hare Airport and questioned them about the alleged assault. TMZ reported that a raid of the men’s residences produced five bottles of bleach, a red hat, two laptops and other items. It had been reported that the substance poured on Smollett might have been bleach.
Family members of the two men said they left for their native Nigeria on the day of the alleged attack. Police kept tabs on their whereabouts and were waiting for them when they returned to Chicago on Wednesday.
Police said the two men are the same ones captured on a surveillance video screen grab on the night of the alleged attack.

Well, it is a story that's been simmering since it was first reported, 15 days ago; many people here and elsewhere have (a) predicted that it would be shown to be a hoax, and (b) stated that they were looking forward to the day the story blew up in Mr. Smollett's face.
Today seems to be that day, and there have been many stories in many outlets about these developments just in the last few hours.
There have been conflicting stories also, some saying the Chicago Police don't believe Mr. Smollett, and others saying the Chicago Police do not disbelieve him.
For all those reasons, there have been a lot of stories out tonight; I and others have posted them.
You can always refrain from clicking on any number of stories posted here that you dislike, or disapprove of, or find redundant or boring.
You can also hit the "Abuse" button and ask that the moderators remove a story that you think shouldn't be here.
Even the MSM is starting to crack on this one. The MSM loves a good hate-crime against their favorite “minorities” but even they can’t report this with a straight face anymore. You’d have to be a total moron to think that his “MAGA country” part of the story was the slightest bit credible. That’s like the crips or bloods trying to establish a foothold in rural Wyoming, they’d get their a$$e$ killed and fed to the coyotes.
No joke. I had no idea who he was or what show hatched him when this debacle hit and I don’t care in the slightest to find out now.
I’m thinking either that or he was looking for love in all the wrong places. Skid row Chicago, a liberal stronghold comparable to Greenwich Village and San Francisco, is MAGA country, who knew?
This is so believable. We all have access to FBI databases so that we can check the immigration status of a restaurant’s wait staff and bartenders.
