I think by that time if it was done it was largely in an ‘ironic’ manner, like the protected classes still do today (HRC “they all look alike”). The talk show guy - Doc Thompson - was killed by the train. He was in his middle years and quite coherent on the radio... how could he not hear or feel the vibrations of a train approaching. For that matter, how could he be so cloudy as to run on a RR track with ear buds (& loud audio?) sigh

I only heard Doc Thompson a few times when he filled in for Glenn Beck - and I do not listen to him much any more. I am trying to remember what I know of Thompson... never thought of him as a Heavy; can't see why reporting on a DoJ plane in Little Rock could cause him to be 'sanctioned', even as an Arkancide... a puzzle (for me.)

I think the train engineer saw him and tried to alert him or some such... I am not really that well informed about this. Glenn Beck seemed to just accept that he was hit by a train while jogging.

Green New Deal Has 2020 Dems On Board, But Party Leaders Tread Lightly

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi isn’t the only one with a tempered response to the big idea pushed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

In the lead-up to the unveiling, after months of calling for lawmakers to get on board, their plan received enthusiastic support from major candidates hoping to take down President Donald Trump in 2020. Sens. Cory Booker (D-N.Y.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) have made strong statements endorsing the Green New Deal.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), has had a more tempered response, emphasizing that there will be other resolutions on the table to consider.

“It will be one of several or maybe many suggestions that we receive,” she told Politico in an interview Wednesday. “The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?” she continued, which may have been a swipe more at 2020 candidates looking to score points than at the resolution itself.
