“The Maestro uses the expression “OFF TO THE RACES”. Interesting choice of words. Did you notice the value is 141 and that the value for OFF THE TABLE is 100? Their difference is therefore 41. What’s the 41st letter of the alphabet? Yes, the letter O. “

See, I like reading SB2’s ideas, but I hit something like this and I get stymied. ‘O’ is not the 41st letter of the alphabet. Or is it?

Strung along a number line into infinity, yes, O (15th) is 41-26.

Calls for a relook at & as part of the alphabet.

Once you each z=26, start again with a=26+1 = 27n b=28, and so on. O being 15th is then 26 + 15 = 41...

There are only 26 letters, so when you get to z, you start over and keep counting. O is #15, but keep counting till you reach it again: 15+26=41.
