I have my batteries in a cardboard box. For prepping purposes I try to keep them at a cool temperature, so they last. The ones I had that’s the cabin that were frozen half the year are still working fine and their expiration date is 2016. I’ve only had batteries explode when they are in devices. And it kind of destroys the battery compartment :-(

The cardboard box probably isn’t the Hi-Tech advice you were looking for!

Thanks for your agreement. You are right - just who else is there fighting for us???? A few in Congress and in the Senate are but not enough. A few good Governors.

But our President has already done so much and we have supported him through all of those efforts and I hope most of us will continue to support him....and let him know we do.

It remains to be seen if the Dems can pass the bill.

If they start balking, we go right to declaring a national emergency, the wall gets built and laws are modified or suspended on immigration for the “duration”. Maybe even a shutdown of the whole southern border.

It is the Dems, not Trump, who have to produce now.

Trump has appeared to be reasonable and flexible here.

If the Dems cannot reciprocate, the American people will be against them, not Trump.

The negotiating back and forth showed who was willing to work on each side Dem’s & Repub’s, I think that was very telling and a good chess move.

I think you are right.

Today, the Dims and their media arm, the fake news operatives, will declare a victory.

I will pray for our President to declare an emergency if, and I doubt it will happen, if the Dims provide the funding.

The President I know did not want the Coast Guard to go unpaid. That is what I think was the tipping point.

A President does NOT need to "justify" a state of emergency to Congress. It is a state of emergency because he, as President, says it is. The law is unambiguous on this.

NIKK, batteries if sealed in unopened packaging are safe to store in cardboard boxes.

You don’t want loose batteries coming in contact with metal or with each other, pole to pole to create a circuit.

Biggest problem is loose or used 9 volt batteries, they have both their poles on the top of the battery—if metal makes contact across both poles, a short circuit is induced and a fire could result.

Just put some tape across the top of each of the 9 volt batteries and store them standing up. No issues there.
