Pre-announcement news articles say Senator Pat Roberts will be retiring in 2020, the end of his fifth term.
Romney stinks.
Lol - thats what the obamaphone lady said.
I read some of the NeonRevolt posted stuff. Never heard of the DarkOverlord before. Does he/they want money, or the named orgs to change their ways and be good now? Sounds as though TDOL just wants money. So he doesn’t sound nice either. Not fond of his language, I must say.
Who is the other one that doesn’t count?
Oh, it’s full of errors.
Grammar doesn’t bother me very much. I try to use correct grammar myself, especially in more formal writings, but vernacular and mistakes just don’t get me peeved. Eubonics, though...
It’s a shame that Germany has to descend into vigilante justice. Maybe that was all part of Merkel and company’s plan.
Good point.
Why is the R senator resigning?
Not encouraging. :(
I’m sure the vigilante stuff is not part of Merckels’ plan. They have clamped down tighter than a drum on any mellow, respectful and law abiding protests, even speech telling the truth ie “protesting” is verboten.
The bikers mean that things are seriously out of control now.
Oh, that’s good, it isn’t immanent.
Thanks. I need the new changes to be spelled out very simply for my feeble brain and that chart looked to be just the ticket. If I can read it, that is!
BKMRK
They've stated unequivocally that they only want money...they don't care about anything else.

I gave it a bit of a listen — about half. Sorry, not feelin’ it. Made me feel jumpy. Maybe it was the Johnny Depp vibes.
That's a pretty good list.
Trump was clearly personally leading on many of the events listed here: Saudi Arabia, the troop withdrawal from Syria, the drawd-down of troops in Afghanistan (still too early to say what happens, Bush and Obama also both ordered drawdowns at various points), big progress in North Korea, and ending the crappy Iran deal. Leaving the Paris accords (2017) was fantastic, something no other Republican would ever have done.
I'd add renegotiation of NAFTA, foreshadowed by his torpedoing the TPP in 2017 (you knew he wasn't bluffing at that point), and his success adjusting trade with China as major Trump-driven wins that should be added to the list. Big wins that show that the bi-partisan consensus was fake. American decline and China as #1 is not some globally pre-ordained event, it's largely the result of feckless "leadership" of the previous two administrations, beginning with the Xlintons push for China to join the WTO, even though they did not meet most of the existing criteria.
A lot of us old Freepers remember that even back then Clinton was taking suitcases of cash from the Chinese to sell out the USA. (Anyone remember the book "Year of the Rat"? Great book!).
Trump's administration has led in many of the other areas, in a clear break with previous practice: the NXVIM sex prosecution, the focus Human trafficking are rightfully called out. I'd also add Jeff Sessions focus on MS-13 and other criminal illegal aliens. His DOJ worked with other agencies to lead in the arrest of tons of them.
I'd argue that the clean up of the FBI/DOJ hasn't gone far enough, but it is still great that a lot of corrupto-crats are at least no longer in their jobs. A bunch of people were fired or resigned under duress, but so far no one from the swamp has seen prosecution. What happened to the McCabe case? It was referred for prosecution by both the House and the DOJ Office of Professional Standards after the OIG report called out his misbehavior. Seems like we should have seen it by now.
It still seems to me like the Deep State wrong-doers have effective immunity. It makes me want to vomit every time I see Clapper or Brennan talking sh*t about President Trump. Someone arrest those clowns already!
I don't see any particular connection of Trump with the #MeToo scandal. The first reporting of it was done by the New York Times and Ronan Farrow in Oct. of 2017, in the New Yorker Magazine. The hast tag began with Alyssa Milano tweeting, also in Oct. of 2017.
I give Praying Medic a total "wishful thinking" score on his claim that voter fraud was exposed. Some people are aware of it, but lets face it 8 races in California were flipped after the election with "vote harvesting", which was legalized, so there will be no prosecution of it and the GOP has 8 fewer seats than it should.
Trump did raise the issue of vote fraud after the election. He appointed a commission led by Pence to investigate it, but nothing has come out of all that. It's certainly not something that belongs on a list of 2018 successes.
A few of the items don't really belong in 2018, though.
The exposure of the Catholic Church began with the Boston Globe articles in 2002:
Church allowed abuse by priest for years
The movie Spotlight is the story of the team of reporters that worked on the stories (eventually over 600 separate stories). Not a bad flick, all things considered. The Globe investigation opened the spigot and it hasn't stopped pouring out pedophile priests ever since.
Ditto the election of right-wing and Nationalist leaders in Europe. There is a bigger wave of Nationalism and rejection of Globalism sweeping the world. Because America is the most important country, our nation making the turn and Trump's election had a lot of impact. But we still have to acknowledge that there were quite a few big wins before Trump: Brexit victory was in June, 2016. Victor Orban was elected in 2010! He was arguably the start of the wave that is still growing. Poland elected the Law and Justice Party in 2015.
2018 saw some big growth: Austria turned over government to Kurz in Dec. 2017, Italy now has a nationalist coalition governing, Spain may flip to the right-wing in the next election.
Yellow jacket protests in France? Well the think I like best about them is that there are these huge protests against Macron. The Libtards absolutely loved Macron, and many threw him up as the example of the smart, sophisticated French doing it the right way and electing a real change agent, not a barbarian like Trump.
It's satisfying that Trump has had this long string of successes and is sitting near 50% approval while their favorite alternative is hiding in his fortress while the people are calling for his resignation and his approval is under 20%.
Now what's really going to be interesting is what happens in 2019! I think we will all know what's what by the time the 2019 roundups are being done next December. And, of course, we'll be well into Trump's re-election campaign.
Re: government shutdown & Consequences
It would just be so cool if corporations or farmers, or, low and behold, even other parents in all counties, took care of lunch for their school kids.
I mean, hurricane Katrina brought people out to prove they can take care of their own in a disaster. Were talking school lunch? Geeez.
Were either adults, or totally now a subsidized Freebie Nation on wheels. Color me exasperated.
There needs to be a limit with these people. If you’ve declined to where you can’t get a driver’s license, you’re too far gone to be a supreme court justice. Sorry. Just my opinion.
I don’t know anything about that law, but I am guessing the totality of these changes was a good reason for waiting until after 1 JAN to round up the miscreants whom we have been pining to see wearing orange.
