New York skyline turned a bizarre blue on Thursday night after an explosion at a Con Edison plant - causing panic and confusion for millions across the city. Bewildered residents took to the streets and shared images on social media after the haze filled the sky at around 9.20pm for three minutes after the blast at the substation in Astoria, Queens. Power was cut at many addresses across the area including the nearby La Guardia airport, which was forced to ground all flights for more than an hour during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year. Officials at the notorious Rikers Island jail were also forced to use backup generators when their electricity shut off for 25 minutes and there were delays on the subway.

Yea lot so strange happenings last night in NY, OH, LA, WA OR states, transformers blowing up, Sprint, Verizon losing service, CenturyTel down all day and still down today, 911 service down in many areas..
Must be Agent K neurolizing the whole city.
Saw some pics of NY....that must have been damn scary.
All the failed systems have one thing in common - Chinese manufactured computer chips.
Click of a mouse at a PLA facility in China, and ....
Remember INCIDENT AT EXETER?
Yes heard of that way back when, hadn’t seen any reports of UFO’s but some strange happenings for sure.
Space aliens is not the first thing I thought of. Chernobyl is what came to my mind first.
Either way, it does bode somewhat well should certain types of groups wish to deal a blow to the grid in such a fashion.
It also caused some of the runway lights at LaGuardia airport to go out for 1/2 an hour on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
IF they a replacement transformer on site, and many utilities do order 4x transformers built when they use the other three every hour, it will take two weeks to unhook and remove the burned one, clean up and move and install the replacement, and region it it up. IF - big if there! - there was no damage to the generators and switchgear inside.
Building and shipping and installing a new transformer? 6 months.
At least the generators and switchgear could get rebuilt and installed while they wait. That’s what happened at plant Bowen 2 when it’s transformed burned.
Someone put a penny behind the fuse again. Shame.
Too big to fail.
