In the whirlwind that is 2018, there has been a notable lack of high-end twisters.
We're now days away from this becoming the first year in the modern record with no violent tornadoes touching down in the United States. Violent tornadoes are the strongest on a 0 to 5 scale, or those ranked EF4 or EF5.

This must be why we need to crush the last vestiges of American liberty with the Green raw deal.
Does Trump get the credit?
Must be because of Global Warming.
Paging al gore. Paging al gore. Your global warming is missing.
This proves global warming/climate change/climate chaos.
“Does Trump get the credit?”
Obama will proclaim credit for it, like with the economy.
We had 10 inches of snow in late April, then went straight to early summer temps.. the Year Without a Spring. The Midwest tornado machine never had time spin up.
We were told MMGW would result in an increase in number and intensity of tornadoes and hurricanes.
So where does this fit in?
Do we credit MMGW for fewer high intensity tornadoes or do we blame MMGW for fewer and less intense storms?

Its jinxed now. Hope everyone in tornado alley holds on to there @ss. Never talk about a mlb no-hitter in the ninth, a hole in one in golf, the perfect ten on a blind date. Jeez Louise what the hell are the newsies thinking? They trying to get someone blowed away?
At least in our area (mid-south) there was also “no fall”, this year. One of the local TV mets described it as “Hot, hot, hot, COLD!” Then it stayed well below normal for about 2 months, with only a very few average or slightly warmer than average days. We certainly never got an “Indian Summer”. Once well into December, temps have been more typical (no unusually warm days, though), and typical December weather around here only rarely causes tornados, especially strong ones.
Climate change is alive and well. Just wait till next year, or, maybe, the year after. And, of course, this is all President Trump’s fault. If he just hadn’t cheated Killary out of the presidency...
Hate to say it but we’re under a Tornado Watch here in Central Texas until 2 pm CT as I type. Could they have just waited until January 1st to write this story?
Trump’s fault! No?
Result in more violent storms (tornadoes and hurricanes) due to increased energy in the atmosphere.
Result in fewer violent storms - due to less temperature differential across the atmosphere and between the atmosphere & ocean.
In other words yes, the scammers want it both ways - if there is anything other than complete steady-state behavior, any anomaly, any deviation from the mean will be immediately pounced upon as "proof" of the effects of global warming.
Of course expectation of adherence to the mean is meaningless. ;-) Particularly in something as volatile and subject to so many influences and complex interactions. What might be scientifically interesting is a long term study of the mean, total numbers, and standard deviation. I suspect such research has already been conducted. However, the results cannot be twisted to support the global warming "message" from the scammers, so the results are quietly ignored.
They sound disappointed over at The Bezos Blog. Could it be that they’re actually rooting for severe tornadoes for some strange reason?
Of course they’re rooting for anything that would hurt “flyover country”.
