Well, this seems to have become an annual event. Alone on Christmas Eve, reaching out to my fellow FReepers.
Myself, I have my daughter's hermit crab for company. And some great classical Christmas music. And, a little later, George Bailey and friends via BluRay.
Anyone else spending this evening solo?

Lost my father this fall, so small but distant family not coming home this year.
My longtime ladyfriend is staying at her elderly parents, as they just started hospice for her father who is losing the fight to a fast growing cancer.
Will go see the young granddaughters tomorrow.
I actually enjoy the absolute peace and quiet of the evening
HOLIDAY OPTION
There is an option for alone folks on the Holiday. Some people, to no fault of their own, end up without family on the holidays.
Post a Craigslist ad or meetup.com early on to other people who are familyless on the holiday. Agree to meet initially for coffee a week before. Be selective. Get four similar people and play board games on Christmas eve.
Be creative with social skills. Then always tailor the group for cohesion. And just have fun. Meet new people.
No other people here, just my three dogs.
Tomorrow will be the same.
Have friends who are doing things with their families.
It feels strange but not the first nor the last time it will be this way!

wife at church and setting up with her tea. She ,manages Thanksgiving and Christmas free dinners. I physically cannot help set up tables.
