Well, this seems to have become an annual event. Alone on Christmas Eve, reaching out to my fellow FReepers.
Myself, I have my daughter's hermit crab for company. And some great classical Christmas music. And, a little later, George Bailey and friends via BluRay.
Anyone else spending this evening solo?
I am alone tonight but busy cooking. Sometimes being alone is far, far better then being with a crazy person. I am ecstatic. hehe
Tomorrow I will be with my kids.

We usually have about 40 people here on Christmas Eve for tamales, rice, beans, and drinks. I just got over a bad cold...can’t get rid of the awful cough...and Hubby just went to bed sick. So I’m sitting on the couch with my mutt laying right next to me. Christmas Eve got cancelled and that’s fine by me. Lol

Yep tis the eve of commercial greed and My wife is at work in the store.
I got the Christmas Carol from Winchester Cathedral on since the brits still sing the old carols from times past on the smart TV and the sound bar cranked up.
Not quite alone, but lonely. Got my crocheting project, some TV, FReepers .... am spending 30 days in the hole over at the facebook jail so I’m missing my friends there.
I’m real sorry I didn’t make it out to get some rum and eggnog.
Tomorrow the same, nothing doing, family scattered. It’s been a bad year so I’m down in the dumps wondering how I’m going to make it. Christmas and the absence of ..... things ..... makes it more embarrassing and more sorrowful.
BUT, spring will be here in 12 weeks and my 4 month, 100+ hours crochet project is shaping up nicely,

I’m alone too. Just took a little nap as I’m on call at the hospital tonight 11pm-7am. Cozy and content. Seeing family tomorrow. This season can be very emotional.

Some of these posts from Freepers that are alone really breaks my heart. I know that I ruffle a lot of feathers around here (due to be a younger guy amongst elders) but it really crushes me when I read posts with lonely people yearning for a family.
I think in times like this, we should understand as Christians that we will prevail in the end. It might not be the way we want to prevail, but we will. That is the promise God made to us.
Also, I think this is a good time to remind ourselves that this is a battle between good and evil. The social engineers, evil politicians, and corrupt legal system has created an anti-family, anti-child, vicious materialistic society. If you are alone because of divorce, inability to find love, etc., remind yourself it is not your fault. It is the product of a sick, degenerate culture that sees people like us as an anachronism.

Years ago, I went through the SAME thing. I shook my fist at God and said that if He didn’t care enough, that I would end my situation.
HE intervened and from that day forward, I am CONVINCED that He IS aware of you and your situation.
I have a 20 yr old son who wont acknowledge me. He is my BABY boy - I would die for him even though he’s being a jerk to me. He’s my son. NOTHING can ever break my love for him. It is HIS choice to break our relationship. But I am here whenever he changes his mind.
God is there with you whether you think so or not. YOU are worth DYING for. Your life is NOT a mistake.
Trust me... Ive felt the same way. As time passes, you will see the meaning your life has and why sometimes it seemed like it was pointless.
P.S.- my wife came along when I stopped worrying about having someone. Didn’t expect her at all! And I’m no prize...

Yeah, he was anti-Trump but we all make mistakes. And his criticisms of Trump were not the usual garbage.

I was sick a week ago and tried to stay away from her as much as possible.

No solo tonight. Aside from our first Christmas Eve, for the subsequent 36 we’ve had a house full for late night supper followed by opening of gifts. Sometime in the wee hours, tanks will be topped off with homemade hot chocolate, panetone, pie or egg custard & fruit.
About daybreak, survivors will head for church followed by a nap...then leftovers.
*** Unfortunately ‘tis the cold and flu season...
