Sorry, I am not really on board with the bash Mattis crowd. It seems to me that he acquitted himself well with respect to military engagements-I felt that he was respectful to everyone.

I particularly liked when he said we don’t do stunts, and outlined the positives of military’s border support. I also liked the incident with 100% casualty of Russian Mercenaries.

Regarding other issues, even if I don’t see eye to eye, I just am not going to ridicule a man who has served his country for so long.

I think Wictor has an excellent article on this resignation - the General accomplished his mission.

The statement “Because you have the right to have a Secretary of Defense whose views are better aligned with yours on these and other subjects, I believe it is right for me to step down from my position,” is receiving a lot of commentary.

Wictor proposes that the General’s statement is a bit of Military Disinformation.

2. 12/19 Pentagon said that we were NOT withdrawing and ALSO THAT WE ARE - Keep enemies confused and in the dark
3.New Base has been constructed west of former Islamic Stronghold.(WE WILL BE NEARBY)
4. Notes a CHANGE in mission statement on website:
from PROVIDING LETHAL force to defend and sustain
back to prior statement of: forces to DETER WAR and ensure security.
In other words, Mission Accomplished War Over

THIS IS A BIG SIGNAL TO ME-IN KEEPING WITH THE COMMS WE HAVE COME TO LOOK FOR.

Thank you for posting that. Wictor is extremely knowledgeable about warfare and the Middle East, and is, imho genius level with great intuition.

I totally agree with what you posted. Mattis didn’t really slow move the trannycrap, it was done in such a way to avoid lawsuits and freakouts, imho.

Thanks ever so for your own reasoning and the Wictor link to back up the need to not bash Mattis.

I thought that was settled when Q posted a hint that Mattis was resigning in order to prepare for new responsibilities!

I also think he accomplished the Mission, and now that we are beyond the paradigm of nation building, we need new heads to come aboard and plan a new policy and strategy with POTUS.

I believe Mattis is on to another equally challenging and necessary Mission! He is far too valuable to POTUS and to us, if he is still willing to serve.

I’m with you, greeneyes. I think Mattis is tip top. In fact, tippy top.

I see the whole thing as Mattis + POTUS teaming up to pull another fast one on the enemy. Kelly and Sessions are in the mix, too.
