CottonBall the people working there have to move around all over the store. Workers are in demand everywhere. Economy is great and people are out shopping. To criticize people and workers in front of workers is so rude and the girl was doing her best!

I know.

And then there were Franklin’s “air baths.” As a young man, he had been a long-distance swimmer at a time when swimming was something most people did only to escape drowning (one of his greatest developments, in my opinion, was the swim fin). He used dumbbells and could, by a slight stretch, be said to have invented the StairMaster by walking up and down the Craven Street house’s stairs (still there, still uneven) for exercise. And early most mornings, before he set to work, Franklin would sit, he wrote to a friend in France in 1768, “without any clothes whatever, half an hour or an hour, according to the season,” at his open, first-floor window, letting the air circulate over his, by then, considerable bulk. What the neighbors thought is apparently not recorded.

“We just had our discussion of the sack dress and when I just now went to my facebook page what pops up in their side bar but a sack dress.”

NO CHEMISE, PLEASE by Gerry Granahan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kix6o6zc3M4

I had a date for the hop last night
Up to her door everything seemed right
But to my surprise as I opened the door
I couldn't tell the front from the back
"Cause she was wearin' a sack dress
Whew what a mess!
The last time I saw her, man what a shape!!
And now she's got a shape like an egg!

No chemise, please, not for me, please
Well you can take back the sack, leave it hangin' on the rack
And bring a sweater back!!

When we arrived at the hop
We started in doin' the stroll
I told her I wanted to stop
But she wanted rock and roll
I told her forty times and it really was a crime
I was talkin' to the back of her head!

No chemise, please, not for me, please
Well you can take back the sack, leave it hangin' on the rack
And bring a sweater back!---yeah!

Sure would like to find the creator
Who covered up my baby in this tent
He musta been a woman-hater
I keep wonderin' where the wiggle went
So won't you change the fad, have pity on me please
Put 'er back in her dungarees

No chemise, please, not for me, please
Well you can take back the sack, leave it hangin' on the rack
And bring a sweater back!

That sounds like some scary shopping experiences. I’m glad you’re staying in tomorrow.

Air baths, that’s funny. I guess when it wasn’t easy to have hot water available on demand, people did but they had to. My grandparents and Italy had to heat water on their stove top. They just never wanted to pay the money to put in the plumbing to have hot water. So when we visited we did what we had to. Apparently they weren’t the only ones because they were public baths down the street. You just bring all your stuff and go take a bath.

While I was in the Christmas decoration section today...a small bell rolled past my feet. I couldn't help but think of the movie..."The Polar Express"...so I picked up the bell and shook it. I still believe...I heard the jingle.

Which census was it where they asked all sorts of intrusive questions.

I think the last census was in 2010. If I remember, you could have either receive a detailed or an abbreviated version. I think I received the long version via mail. But again, I don’t see how they would know if I was truthful or not. I believe they only sent a person around if you did not turn it in & then only after several requests via mail to turn it in.

Wal-Mart did increase their pay. I have two neighbors that are disabled vets, that need someone to come in to clean, etc. Both of them lost their long time caregivers because Wal-Mart was paying better so they got jobs there.

Depending on your area, employers pay what they need to for good pay

SACRAMENTO, CA — The owner of a Chick-fil-A location in Sacramento, California, calls it a “living wage.” In Eric Mason’s view, that would be $17 or $18 an hour, which is what he vows he’ll be paying his workers, starting Monday, June 4. The rate represents a sizable increase for employees now making $12 to $13 an hour.

“As the owner, I’m looking at it big-picture and long-term,” Mason told a local news station. “What that does for the business is provide consistency, someone that has relationships with our guests, and it’s going to be building a long-term culture.”

The idea, Mason said, is to hire workers — he prefers “hospitality professionals” — who will stick around, a worthwhile goal for a brand known for its customer service that’s in an industry that had a 73 percent turnover rate in 2016, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Lol! I can’t even blame it on a dictation system! It was auto correct!

AutoCorrect does some pretty weird things too. Usually it does pretty good but I hate it when it fixes proper names. I get spoiled with it though, and I leave errors in because I know it will correct it. That was when I used to type :-) hopefully I’ll get there again one day.

Oh that’s right, not everybody got them. Some of those questions were pretty intrusive. I guess they had valid reasons behind it, but since 1984 is one of my favorite books, I was seeing big brother everywhere.
