If they’re in Hidalgo, it looks like they’ll need to use Highway 200 as their primary route. Looks like a great place for the Mexican authorities to set up a roadblock... if they really want to halt this invasion.

While Mexican officials have likely been amply bribed to look the other way as the “caravan” passes and the organizers have been careful to avoid the appearance of this being an invading army, it is inevitable that the criminal element in this mob will show itself along the way. If the supplies of food, water and money are interrupted this caravan will quickly break into a pillaging mob that will ravage the Mexican countryside like locusts. The Mexican government should be scared to death that this “caravan” won’t become the barbarian hoard.
If they ruin business as usual the cartels might deal with them.

Mexico has been trying to stop people from (even more) socialist countries from getting across their southern border, but for a long time, if these people promised they were just passing through, they tolerated it.
This Marxist-Venezuela sponsored show is turning out to be a real black eye for Mexico, though, and it’s also making Mexican authorities look weak and foolish in the eyes of Mexican citizens. I suspect Trump may get a lot more cooperation from Mexico in the future if he stands firm, because it will also give Mexico the guts to stop these Marxist manipulated floods of people.
I very much agree with you. This thing’s going to act like all hurricanes: they make great progress until they get where they’re going. Then, they break apart. NO question in my mind that this thing ends poorly for the perpetrators, who’ve been hoodwinked.
This invasion of the United States by these people will work to the advantage of the Republicans.
Democrats are claiming that the Republicans are making their argument based on fear.
First of all, fear is the greatest motivator to take action.
Second, the fear is based in reality.
I can't help but imagine the worst case scenario where the entire Texas hill country is overrun with marauding groups of lawless thugs who will stop at nothing for food and shelter.
Am I being an alarmist? It doesn't seem as though these people can be stopped in a non-violent fashion. Seriously, what exactly, are Presdent Trump's realistic options? I am an NRA member but have never owned a gun. Should I purchase one?

Chiapas is 950 miles from McAllen, TX. The incident was 2 posted 2 days ago. They’re advancing at a fast pace.

A German friend of mine grew up in Mexico city and he says there everyone who has sense have barred windows and a dog that will tear you to pieces. They know they cannot rely on the police or the military.
Where will the US Police be,if and when, they arrive here.

The cops got out of the way. More recently I read that the mob looted an open-air market--that's not going to be popular with Mexicans--it's insulting.
We've had the House, Senate & President for 2 years. IF we hold the house, we will have a slimmer margin. Yes, we will have a new House Leader, but nothing changed the last 2 years. You expect a miraculous turn around now?

Where is the media outrage over “poor” Mexicans being robbed? I’m sure the LSM will be on the Mexicans’ side when they reach our border, but no outrage about a roving, invading mob robbing them now.

I first saw this photo on Breitbart, I believe. Notice the guy on the left with the red mask, and the guy on the right with the red and yellow flag. They are minions of Mel Zelaya and Salvador Nasralla’s “Libre” party, hard left wing socialists and communists. This crowd makes Antifa look like pikers! They are as much a pain in the butt as the Democrats in the US, but THESE GUYS aren’t in the “caravan”. They are just professional agitators, being paid by leftists in other countries like Venezuela, Colombia and maybe the US. To their credit, Nicaragua has stayed pretty much out of this fray. The people in the caravan are being used by these thugs to further their own agendas, and the Libres couldn’t care less what happens to them. The more dead, the more propaganda.
I know what you mean - but what's more important in the minds of Mexico's top polticians/elites - a few insignificant peasants and peons getting robbed and assaulted? Or trying to embarrass Trump and promote Mexican/Latino power against the United States?
