caused the skydivers death, according to the agency. The FAA said she was using her own equipment.
Usually, FAA probes into such situations are limited to if the chute was packed properly and by the appropriate person. Fellow skydivers said she was experienced in the extreme sport.
Meanwhile, the skydiving center itself has a decades-long history of deaths and was investigated by federal agents earlier this year, according to KTXL.
Nineteen people have died there since the facility opened in the early 1980s, with six of them between 2016 and 2018.
After trouble in 2016, 20 center instructors were suspended and it was determined 120 more needed more training as the U.S. Parachute Association investigated.

Worked in an Airborne unit for a few years.
Cause of death:Impact.
The guys used to read a parachuting magazine, back end article every month was as listed above. The magazine look at fatal accidents and tried to use that as a safety lesson.
‘Oh Lord, stuck in Lodi again’
Too soon?
Lodi, NJ or Lodi, CA?
It is long past time to repeal the law of gravity.
Very tragic.
A great tune, on every juke box at the time.

No reserve chute?
Hasn’t technology advanced far enough to ensure functioning parachute packs? Or some sort of backup ripline of sorts?
Sad. RIP.
Remember the nurse who doctored patients’ IV drips and meds because she was a serial killer?
What would that personality look like in a parachute org?
Isaac Newton is the most prolific mass murderer in history.
Huh?
Guess she learned skydiving wasn’t for her...
She’ll never have to do that again...
CA.
From article at link:
"A skydiver died after her parachute failed to open during her jump at the Skydive Lodi Parachute Center in Northern California on Sunday, according to KTLA sister station KTXL in Sacramento."
Where would you rather be?
I’m a former Instructor, Jumpmaster and Safety Officer for the United States Parachute Assn. I would be classified as “Expert” if I had one water jump.
Parachuting now is very safe if you stick to the safety procedures. If you have a malfunctioning main, the release system and reserve deployment is now quite fast, especially when compared to the old system that the round chutes used.
The danger is when one problem is followed by another. If you initiate opening lower than usual, then something else goes wrong, you have little time to correct the problems. If you don’t have enough time you eat high speed dirt.
The “squares” are VERY reliable if packed properly. I have only known one jumper who didn’t take his pack job seriously. The reserve chutes must be packed by a licensed rigger.
I’ll look for more information, but this was just to answer your question.
Alive.
Come now, we are more advanced than that... this is 2018!
Take a page from the 'Rats: Go judge shopping, then you can easily get an injunction against gravity. Take it to the 9th Circuit, and bank on SCOTUS not taking the case. Problem solved!
