Ugh. DO NOT want more ethanol in gas.
I support farmers. Giant DS controlled farming conglomerates, not so much.
Hope this is temporary.
But I notice that corn is in a killbox. So maybe we are misinterpreting?
Frankly, I don’t want that crap in my gas. Ethanol has a lower BTU rate per gallon than pure gasoline, so my MPG will suffer. Doesn’t do my small engines (lawn tractor, mower etc.) much good either.
He’s one sharp cookie. And well connected. Time will tell. Thanks.
I remember being so shocked when I first entered a Walmart down here in Florida, and saw many people wearing slipper like footwear with white socks, etc. Upon further reflection, I realized the people I saw were elderly and moved very slowly. They were no doubt in pain, and probably struggling to make the trip for food or whatever, to remain living as independently as possible.
Now that I am older, I also move slower and am in pain. I can identify with them, although I haven’t reached the slipper and socks stage yet (and hopefully not soon!) My heart goes out to them. We do approach them in the parking lot and ask if they need assistance loading their car or returning the cart to the central cart holding place. You probably do the same thing : )
Hopefully I’m reading that article right but it sounds like this would benefit the independent refiners, that’s a good thing.

Best to use non-ethanol gas in small engines.

Boom, Boom, Boom, Ethanol? Doesn’t feel like Q territory. Thoughts?
To summarize what others and I have said, any car newer than 2001 will be okay. Small engines will not be okay. Independent refiners seem to benefit by this, not sure how even after reading the article about it all. They say more smog in Summer and cheaper prices, I’ll believe that when we see it. Also less MPG because ethanol produces less BTUs when burned than straight gasoline.
No doubt crappy corn fed beef will probably increase in price. I don’t buy it so I don’t care.
True. And it would be nice if it was more readily available. It's here and there, but not a lot of places carry it. I usually get by with adding Stabilizer to my fuel for the lawn stuff.
So if your car is 2001, you’re not okay?
I also wonder if it will increase/decrease temperatures in the turbos. I have a twin-turbo V-6 in my truck. I want whatever is safest for the engine (and produces the most horsepower because I like horsepower).

The marketwatch article says you will be okay with 2001 and later unless your car owners manual specifically says not to use it.
