Steve Daines, R-Mont., announced he’s going to attend his daughter’s wedding back home in Montana on Saturday — meaning that even though he supports Kavanaugh, he would be unavailable to vote for his confirmation, which is expected to be taken up that evening. Republicans cannot delay the vote without the consent of all 100 senators. (Only 50 affirmative votes are needed for Friday’s procedural vote to invoke cloture, meaning to formally end debate and move forward to Saturday’s final vote.)

Not persuaded. Many ways to read that “what did No name say?” May have been that No name provided ‘expert’ advice to ‘the flake’ because of his vast years of experience in the senate. May have been No name’s experiences with grass roots campaigns or those who owed No name a political favor.
I’m not saying the shoe was literally on the other foot. Heck, I don’t know if there was any blackmail card one way or the other.
