Body Language: Brett Kavanaugh Hearing Christine Blasey Ford (A MUST SEE !)
Why are you even replying to my post?
The OP posted this to Activism/Chapters. I was asking why.
Are you still stalking me?
Im not certified but am a decent poker and Texas Holdem player. Have gone up against pros. Usually get my butt kicked, but on occasion win. That means I know how to control my body language and read others body language (including facial expressions).
She has so many bluff aka lying tells its ridiculous. Judge Kavenaugh also has a lot of tells - but the other way. He wasnt bluffing aka lying. To be blunt, he couldnt bluff even a skilled amateur.
Frankly, neither one should play poker or Holdem. The difference: her tells showed lying, his tells showed truth.
Thank you very much for posting. I saw this the other day here on FR and have been trying also to post it up when the conversation came up. VERY GLAD you put it on it’s own thread. I think EVERYONE should see this before making an opinion on her. Even without it was obvious to me she was lying.
I am SO SICK of people who keep repeating the words ‘credible’ and her testimony. What do they think gives it credit?
Everyone needs to remember also she spent YEARS studying how people act. That is her PROFESSION.
Anyone who would bring forward any attempt to derail someone’s life in a last minute accusation from an incident, real or made up, which would have been a misdemeanor over 30 years ago, and as TEENS, is deranged to begin with.
I agree, she speaks her mind freely. She loves honest people and will comment that when she notices someone speaking the truth that their body sings with what is coming out of their mouth.
She commented several times about the "Pretty Face" that Dr. Ford was doing.
A question for anyone that knows the woman, maybe a student from her classes - Is the voice we heard from the testimony her normal voice?
By the way the analysis at the linked video does discuss the issues you raised. Extensively. Good call.
Yes, so isn’t it extremely ironic that when the prosecutor asked her if she knew about techniques used to retrieve memory from trauma victims, she played dumb/said she didn’t - and the prosecutor told her it takes extensive time (just saying these 5 minutes would be mostly futile) - but when I heard her say she didn’t know, I was like ‘huh? - this is the psych doc schpealling(sp?) off hipocamus indelibility?
Thanks for posting. Great analysis.
Can you opine as to why a person would start tucking their hands in the waistband of their pants at random intervals? Not in their pockets, just their waistband. Mostly in the front. Unconcious of doing so until it’s pointed out. Not sexual; no touching of anything, pretty much just the fingers tucked into the waistband.
I’ve looked up this behavior numerous times and can’t get any knee jerk type opinion on it so I guess it’s unusual (I actually only know two people who do this and they are related). I am very curious as to why this behavior developed.
“listening is a lot different that watching”
Absolutely. I also listened on a radio station feed rather than watching. I could not believe anyone was taking her at all seriously because I saw none of the visual signals she was throwing out for distraction. None of the “pretty pose” was reaching me. It was like listening to a bad actress read her script and fake emotion that she wasn’t feeling. I kept thinking that no way did she acquire 2 masters degrees and a doctorate with that voice. No one would give her any credibility for intellect. She disgraced herself.
Ford is lying. She has made this story up. My take on her is that while she is definitely clever and deceptive, she not very far above average in the art of telling a lie. If Mitchell, or any competent attorney had a day with Ford in deposition, it would simply be over for her. You need to be methodical and keep a steady tone, going over the same events from different angles, alternately relaxing her and challenging her, pinning her down a little more each time. Lying and defending your credibility under such an examination takes an enormous amount of mental energy. Ford has to anticipate where the examiner is going, and craft an answer allowing her to stay several steps ahead to avoid being trapped. People can only keep that up for so long. Asking the questions is not nearly so taxing, especially if you are prepared.
I listened on the radio, too. Her “little girl voice” didn’t convince me.
I wish I was a trial attorney with more than three decades of experience examining, cross-examining, and deposing witnesses.
Instead, I’m some stupid computer developer with Cloud and Big Data.
I’m a creep.
I’m a weirdo.
What the hell am I doing here?
I don’t belong here.
No you don't. It's a nasty way to make a living.
Yeah, well, if you want to talk about dirty ways to make a living, just try and grab a 145 million record subscription off Informatica, FTP it to an integration server, then optimize a SQL SSIS package to load it and create a crosswalk table of history and current-state records.
When you are done, you feel dirty. Used. LOW.
Well I have all sons, a lot of brothers, and I taught high school. So I’ve seen a lot of hand/pant stuffing Haha.
Knee jerk answers are hard without seeing other body language and knowing ages etc.
But men do a lot of gestures unknowingly that seem to “protect”their crotch. Very natural thing for men. I think the hand stuffing is one of those gestures. Especially if they are feeling particularly powerless or vulnerable.
Now standing with hands in pockets can be a couple of things that include a primal mating thing standing and talking to an attractive woman. But they dont shove hands in their pants. Two different concepts.
I would loosely say it’s just the vulnerable thing. I notice it most when they’re sitting or lounging. I think subconsciously protecting that area because in that position you’re more vulnerable (perhaps to your brother walking by and trying to start an impromptu wrestling match)
I hope that helps some. It could have more serious elements like a deep seed anxiety.... but I think that would come and go according to the stresses of life.
Im not a psychologist but when we’re trained we’re taught the psychology behind this stuff.. . Which just means a bunch of psychos got together and decided that’s what it means and told us. Hahha!
I imagine that's just how I would feel if I were Ford's attorney.
+1,000,000
My hunch based on your comment is you would be a very good poker player if you spent a little time on it.
Lol. If anyone belongs here, its you Laz. Youve been here for almost 20 years and have never seen anything but insightful, funny, or self-deprecating posts from you. In my opinion, you are a Freeper icon. Heck, your name pops up in posts where they dont even bother copying you.
Question: are you Iron Man?
Oh dear. I am *addicted* to the ‘body language ghost’ channel now. Watched a whole bunch of the other videos including of Judge Kavanaugh.
But she has a particularly amusing one of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez LoL.
Still haven’t watched it but I heard z Ford do this testimony.
It’s called vocal fry. Im Kardashian does it.
