If McConnell were strategic about it, he would hold Flake, Collins and Murkowski out of the vote until just before the deadline, to try to force the Democrats to vote first. They won’t vote for Kavanaugh unless and until Republicans have the votes. At that point, they will be released. I would have those 3 wait til there were 10 second left to cast their votes. If they time it right, they might even get some Dems to miss the vote.

Congress doesn’t prosecute Dems for lying to them, but lying to the FBI is far more risky. The FBI is staying away for her protection.

Lying to either one, by the way, does need to be done under oath to be prosecuted as a felony.

I went to HS around that time and I was thinking this: I too remember people going mysteriously into bedrooms... lines of people leading from bedrooms... they were snorting coke. Or smoking weed. Bedroom sidebars for drug use were extremely common. Occasionally a couple might hook up. But never seen or heard of a rape train (except in media) in my life.
