Sorry for the vanity post. I've been reading so much that it's hard for me to get a grasp on the actual vote count for the nomination.
Let's say for the sake of argument that the Judiciary Cmte votes on Thursday to send Kavanaugh's nomination to the full Senate.
Does anyone know what the current vote total is for the nomination? Have any GOP senators said they're voting NO?
On both sides of the aisle, are they any holdouts - for example, Manchin, Collins, etc?
If you had to guess, what will the vote for confirmation be? 52-48 in favor?
Let's hear it.
Boom........nails it.
Brilliant idea!!
Sounds very good to me. This is what LBJ would have done and it is what DJT should do. Arm-twisting is an American right!

Yes, yes, yes
Publish the names associated with the $17-million.
Those are public funds spent to cover-up pubic hijinks.
BRAVO!
There is some risk there, but the odds are with us. That is the kind of political street-fighting tactic that makes good sense! Such "ungentlemanly" tactics are probably the only way to defeat the thug terrorists who would seek to remake our government.
“President Donald Trump announces today that one of two things will happen by the close of business this Friday: Either Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed, or all the details including every single name involved with the $17 million dollars of taxpayer money that has been used to settle sexual harassment claims in our legislative branch is made public.”
I like it. However, even if the committee voted on Thursday the rules dictate that the full Senate must be given a 3-day (that’s 3 BUSINESS days) notice for a vote in the full Senate. Thus, the soonest a vote in the full Senate can take place is Tuesday, October 1.
50-50 with Pence breaking the tie.
“Prediction: Flake votes in favor. Collins/Murkowski vote against. Pence breaks the tie. Kav. confirmed.”
Under that scenario Kavanaugh gets rejected 51-49 and Pence gets no vote.
I’ve been suggesting just that for days now.
See post #10.
Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution states that the President shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate,...
Thats it. Nothing about a vote.
What does “consent” mean in this context? Webset says: “to permit, approve, or agree; comply or yield”. Does that imply a vote? I don’t know, but either way, move it from the hearings to the Senate floor and vote on it and get back to work.
“I don’t think Kavanaugh gets a single Democrat vote. So under your scenario he goes down 49 to 51. I hope you’re wrong.”
I partially agree with you. Without the sexual allegations, I think Kavanaugh would have gotten Manchin, Heidkamp and Donnelly. With the allegation, I think only Manchin votes in favor.
I hope I’m right.
So we are back to confirmed by the Senate.
I am stealing this to post on FB........I have been posting about who were the payouts for...we need names also
That is a great idea!
