Directed by Rob Marshall and starring Emily Blunt in the title role, the musical, floating down just before this Christmas, is a sequel to 1964’s Julie Andrews classic, and judging by this trailer seems spot-on in terms of tone and style. There’s even a big, splashy and colorful animation-live action hybrid scene, complete with penguins.

So was I. The trailer I watched appeared to pay homage to the original. Perhaps they have learned a bit from the Star Wars fiasco.

How could DvD play the elderly bank president in the sequel when he died in the original ?!?
I always admired DVDyke from his role in the DVD show and Mary Poppins. Then I watched a one-man show of his where he put on display his true character. Based on that I now see him as an evil old man. His language was beyond atrocious.

No, Lansbury is in the new “Mary Poppins Returns”. I thought she had passed. The last time I remember seeing her was when I was searching through TV channels and passed by “Murder, She Wrote”. My mother in law loved that series.

In real life the guy is a foul mouthed, raving left-wing loon. Even in his 90s he headlined a bunch of Bernie Sanders rallies because he thought Hillary was too-right wing.
Gregory Peck and Andy Griffith were likewise deranged leftist a-holes in real-life.
She's another one who always looked and sounded the same whether she was 50 or 90. She's still playing the type of roles she played in The Manchurian Candidate. They could have gotten her to reprise the part for the politically correct 2004 remake and nobody would notice any difference from her appearance in the 1962 movie.

The new one on Netflix is crap and yes, apparently, there is a lesbian. They ruined an innocent, pleasant, wonderful, inspiring movie to push the crap agenda.
