I was glued to Free Republic. Freepers were the best source of what was going on on the ground. Better than Fox or any other source.
What it does illustrate is how we sometimes might fall for something said by someone who spends time building up credibility in order to later spring something false that people will nonetheless believe. Like some of those Paytriots out there, or AJ. That’s not what I was doing though, I was just making a joke that apparently was too close to believable given all we have learned here.

Yes, and they use burner phones, too. So the writer may be known, but not the name of the person Page leaked to. The leakee would have given the info to the writer. I think we need to rethink our espionage laws to criminalize the journalists who receive and publicize state secrets. Their first amendment rights do not, IMO, include the right to conspire to harm the interests of the nation.
