I never thought she was hot because she was my mom’s double. I had to hear that growing up, no kid wants to hear that.

It’s a shame she turned out to be a leftist nut.

A great 70s flick. Ned Beatty is the crooked sheriff and great character actor R G Armstong was the enforcer.

Gator McKlusky (Reynolds): How’d you like that knife shoved up yer ass?
Big Bear: [long pause] I wouldn’t like that at all.

Yes! I went to Burt and Jacks a couple of times. It was a really great place and the food was excellent. It seems like everything BR tried to do outside of acting, never really worked out.

Everybody had a CB radio in those days. My dad had one. Loved it! Now, my son has one.

His movies in the 70s showed the South in a positive vein when it was not PC to do so. Yes, his movies were generally positive - but also realistic and gritty. Scenes in roadhouses, diners and truck stops were particularly true-to-life.
Recently, someone described Smokey and the Bandit as "the Citizen Caine of redneck movies". I hope that somehow, that description reached Burt's ears. If it did, I'll bet it made him smile.
