Burt Reynolds Dead at 82

Burt Reynolds died of a heart attack Thursday morning at a hospital in Florida, according to multiple reports.

Reynold was 82.

Burt was transported a Florida hospital after going into cardiac arrest. His family was by his side when he passed.

Burt was a star in the moves and on TV -- appearing in classics like "Smokey and the Bandit," "Boogie Knights" and "Cannonball Run."

He had a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale when I lived there in Port Everglades, called Burt and Jacks.

According to this article, it had to close in 2002, because the enhanced security in Port Everglades in the wake of 9/11 made it too difficult to get to.

I’m old enough to remember how iconic a movie star Burt Reynolds was in the 70s, but he just never appealed to me in any way. (My mother didn’t care for his looks either and said he thought that he was God’s gift to women.)
