CHICAGO (CBS) — A 57-year-old woman is killed after being attacked by a pit bull on Chicago’s far South Side.

It happened near 101st and South Calhoun around noon Saturday.

Police said when officers arrived at the scene, the dog charged at them. Both officers fired their guns killing the dog.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The dog bit her throughout her body, including her neck.

Police are still investigating. It’s unclear where the dog’s owner was.

CBS 2 has confirmed the woman’s name is Karen Brown. Her nickname was “Punchie.” pw South Side Woman Killed By Pit Bull

Then you need to get rid of the pit bull and join the human race. Instead of rescuing them, let the shelter put them down.

Yeah, you did. You publicly said that the dog and its owner were lucky you didn’t find them. Your comment, taken in its entirety, is a threat of bodily harm: CCW (firearm); looking for (hunting down); dog and its owner (targets/victims); they were lucky you didn’t find them (confirms intent to harm them).

Good luck.

Like I said; these fear mongering dog haters are the villains in this story. That one just set himself up for a nice long stay in prison over it. We now know he’s a criminal. The only question at this point is if he will pay for his crimes or not.

Thanks for pointing that out. I missed it.

you my friend jumped to a conclusion. After my dog was taken care of I called the local authorities and personally met with them. I advised them of what happened and where. they knew the guy and the dog but it ws a holiday weekend and they had higher priorities than looking for him. They advised me 2 places the guy usually hangs out at and told me if I saw them to call back and they would pick them up. I also called animal control that was closed for the holiday weekend and would only respond to emergencies. If you think I or anyone else would personally face to face talk to law enforcement, leave my call back info and then go looking for vigilante justice, you are very mistaken.

Yes they were very lucky I didn’’t find them as I was advised the dog already had a couple of strikes against it and one more could be very serious for both of them as the dog was not controlled by the owner. Of course I retrieved a weapon, as the dog already showed its aggresion and the owner showed he could not control it.

as they say that’s the rest of the story...

The post was meant to trigger the unstable dog guard and it worked... sorry you got caught up in it..

regards
rs

There are plenty of dogs that need rescue. An endless supply really. I can tell you that I work every day in an inner city are in Cincinnati Ohio and ever pit bull I see has a thug or lesbian at the end of its leash. Losers.

I live in a zip code said to be one of the wealthiest in the US and I have not seen a pit bull here around home in so long I can’t recall.

I call this a scientific poll.

You are among the thugs and the losers. Its not my opinion or emotion, its a fact. I would be saying exactly the same thing to you if you told me you had a tattoo on your face.

Uh, by law there can be no mauling without an unlawful attack. Look up legal the definition of the VERB “maul,” and you will see that it arises out of some physical force resulting in injury: She was MAULED by an angry crowd; he was MAULED by a jealous husband.

I should have been more careful with my definitions. What I meant was a pitbull mauling the face off a two-year-old while adults try every possible means to get the pitbull to release its jaw lock on the childs face.

Or perhaps what I meant was a woman whose dog literally chewed off her arm and then when people finally arrived to help, got the dog off, the dog came back to chew off her other arm while help tried desperately to beat the dog off. BTW, police that arrived at the house said it was the most gruesome scene they had ever seen, that not even murder scenes had that much blood everywhere.

Sorry I used the word to maul inaccurately. I will have to pay much closer attention to legal definitions.

Do you think I should post pictures next time? Would that help.

Sorry if I sound snide but it is so upsetting to see people parsing and making such excuses.

Well, I didn’t catch it, someone else did but you stated you “got your ccw then went looking for the homeless guy and his dog to kill them”.

So we have established you’re a criminal and potential murderer by your own words. If I were you I would be contacting the moderator to have that post removed. It’s very incriminating.

Besides; I understand what it’s like to say something more embellished than intended in the heat of the moment. Don’t worry; I’m not going to call the feds on you or anything.

“You are among the thugs and the losers.”

My dogs have all been rescues, and from that you conclude I’m a thug and a loser? Wow.

Whenever you post a comment, something is subtracted from the sum total of human knowledge.

“Well, I didn’t catch it, someone else did but you stated you “got your ccw then went looking for the homeless guy and his dog to kill them”

above is FAKE NEWS

yeah you didn’t catch it and no one else threw it either! BS
.
I said nothing of the sort once again your bias is showing you jumped to conclusion when all you had to do was go look at my previous posts..but you apparently are reacting with your emotions not your brain...you have established you can’t read or just want to
“embellish”something that was not there...

once again what crime in your pea brain do you think I committed?

recap:

“hahaha the owner was a homeless vagabond that didnt have two nickels..what he was using for a leash was his belt. i did make a police report and they knew the dog and owner..nothing happened..the dog had been in dog jail before. After my dog was taken care of I went and got my ccw and went looking for the pair of irresponsible man and dog. lucky i didnt find them.”...

...you my friend jumped to a conclusion. Of course I retrieved a weapon, as the dog already showed its aggresion and the owner showed he could not control it.

as they say that’s the rest of the story...

call whoever you want, maybe you should call a friend who is not so biased and can read and understand plain English without embellishing by changing words that were not there.

While you are at it how can an infant provoke a dog to maul or kill it? And if a dog can sense fear how does that enter the equation, do dogs attack when they sense fear? Do you consider that provoking a dog?

Are you retarded? There are actual dogs who should be rescued. You have chosen to rescue pit bulls. It makes you stupid, for sure. Whether you are a thug, I can’t say. But, you are in society with the losers just like if you got a face tattoo. With a face tattoo, you would be stupid, maybe a thug and certainly in society with the losers.

Now, practice your reading and then go back over my posts to you and you will eventually understand.

"Most of us have only known one person whose area of focus is violent pit bull behavior."

That's because some people aren't posting the news as often or writing about it, yet. I posted a few articles about pit bull attacks at times. We'll be discussing more about practical defense soon.

And to other readers here. I recently wrote the advice to study anatomy. Find information about animal and human anatomy. Study it. There are other subtopics to cover soon and much more to learn.

"...an obsession with pit bull violence..."

That claim has no basis, unless a person is known to disrupt his daily healthy personal activities with worry about pit bulls. Many people have known family members, friends, coworkers or neighbors who were physically damaged by pit bulls. Some of those people have chosen to do something about the problem. Some have chosen to inform others. That's a healthy response.

These threads display a great record of information for mental health professionals, philosophy academics (logic, fallacies), law enforcement professionals, attorneys and others to use. Delete the threads, and they'll continue to be available someplace. I'm only one of many who will guarantee that. ;-)

Come on. I am talking about what we read on Free Republic. I see both sides of it, I don’t have a dog in the fight, and make on obvious observation that this is norski’s ‘thing’, and that the ONLY person on FR who had ever posted like this was chet99.

That is undeniable.
