The video of Poncho the police dog performing CPR and doing mouth-to-mouth on his officer has gone viral
Police have released an adorable video of a dog performing CPR on an officer who pretended to collapse on the ground.
The footage even shows the pooch giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the acting cop.
Madrid Municipal Police shared the video on social media and so far it has been viewed almost two million times.
In the clip, Poncho is called to attend to a police officer who has "fainted" in front of an audience.
Poncho rushes to the rescue and straight away starts pouncing on the officer's chest.
The police dog continues to jump on him before checking his pulse.
At one point the commentator says: "Here we have our dog doing the resuscitation manoeuvre. And the mouth-to-mouth!"
The audience is heard chuckling and applauding the CPR canine.
Poncho then returns to the chest compressions, springing up and down on the man's torso.
The commentator encourages the cute pooch: "That is it, resuscitate him again."

Nope....I didn’t see the dog put on tourniquets, arterial clamps and blood clot bags. All that is going to happen is a quicker exsanguination.

I have been around animals most of my life. Not much surprises me about their actions. Once had a dairy cow push me away from stepping on a rattler. Gave her a little extra grain that day.
I shared this on FB a few days ago and I cannot figure out what the heck that dog is.

In 1993, my first rescued Ibizan Hound, Minny, actually saved my life when my woodstove backed up while I was asleep.
I regained consciousness to find her barking in my face and jumping on my chest.
The room was completely full of smoke and I could hear but not see my other dogs coughing around the room.
We all raced out into the bitter cold and I put them in the yard and ran back in to open all the windows and doors and shut down the stove.
I did get double inhalation pneumonia from that but the doctors said I would have just died in my sleep, if not for her.
That was just one of the many times she saved my life.
I want one!

That picture reminds me of our Norwegian elkhound we had when I was a kid. She would sit and watch a gopher hole patiently listening. Then she’d leap in The air and come down on her front feet. Sometimes she’d get it.
That’s cool. Ours was similar but she used her paws to catch it.

Wish I could find it - there was a female trainer that had a full routine with CPR built into it within the past few years...I’ll keep looking.
I tried to watch it on 2 different browsers — actual video never loaded on either, but a ton of other things; side videos, ads, cookie requests, loaded instead. Looked cute, but I don’t have the patience for this stuff anymore. Any page or video that takes that long to load and with that much extraneous crap isn’t worth it, no matter how cute.
I can’t blame you on that count. I actually saw it earlier today on TV.
