NEW YORK Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was never expected to approach the record-setting heights of 2015s Jurassic World, but it still took a mighty bite out of the box office with a $148 million debut, according to final ticket sales figures Monday.
The opening proved that the 25-year-old Jurassic Park franchise remains a massive draw, even when trailed by mediocre reviews. The follow-up to Jurassic World (which debuted with $208.8 million three years ago) earned just a 50 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But audiences gave it an A-minus CinemaScore.
After opening with an animated-feature record $182.7 million last week, Pixars acclaimed Incredibles 2 slid to second with $80.3 million. Rarely have two such popular films filled theaters at once. The weekends total ticket sales ranked as one Hollywoods biggest overall weekends ever.

Cis-asaurs...
WAY too long and too much dialogue. 2 hours and hours and take 10 minutes. At least the theater had beer.
Superheroes and dinosaurs have dominated the box office.
Any lawyers get eaten in this one?
this is the movie that was going to have a lesbian scene in it- but cut the scene because of ‘time restraints’- You can bet the next jurrasic park will have a gay scene in it- Nope- no thanks!
Even when they do, the script is inevitably contrived in such a manner as to make the guns useless.
Just give me a Barrett Light Fifty and a clear field of fire. I'll teach the T-Rex who's on top of the food chain.

I don’t think so.
Most of the people who got it were the dino snatchers and the people, from various countries, that were bidding on them.
I kept trying to decide if the main bad guy(snatcher) was an older Fred Ward(Tremors).
It wasn’t, but I wasn’t sure until I looked at the credits.
I’m not sure the guy “rescuing” dinosaurs to sell to the “Eyes Wide Shut” crowd was a lawyer, but he might have been.
Hopefully all sexual persuasions were represented, hopefully each ethnic category as well
No one seems interested in making a film about Miocene South America: an island continent populated by strange eutherian herbivores, metatherian carnivores, flightless giant terror birds and land-dwelling crocodiles.
Unique fauna found nowhere else on earth. Australia remains the only island continent today and its marsupials are descendants of Gondwanan metatherians that made their way there via South America.
Won’t work with the YMIR from 20 Million Miles to Earth.
Your post was sudden but inevitable.
