Good (and bad) movies come and go, but some films garner such a fierce, loyal following that they reach cult status. People watch them over and over and over again. They host parties to watch them some more. Midnight showings at movie theaters draw incredible crowds, and oftentimes, fans "act out" the scenes in front of the screen.
Actors who happened to have been in cult movies enjoy lifetimes of stardom (to one extent or another) and can probably make a living signing autographs at events and Comic-Con ad nauseam.
Are you a huge fan of any cult classic? Here are some favorites below. Weigh in with the ones you can't get enough of!
Yes. But where is It Came From Outer Space? Why is Roger Corman not represented?
Idiocracy
Office Space
Airplane!
Blazing Saddles
Being There
The Princess Bride
Start the Revolution Without Me
Black Robe
Scaramouche (1952)
Cult movies that suck diseased animals:
Star Wars
Raising Arizona
Blues Brothers - Agreed!
Happy Texas
Bubba Ho-tep
For a few Dollars More
Brazil
Start the Revolution Without Me is a hoot, but it isn’t shown very often. There are so many great bits in that film.
Tim Curry is a VERY versatile actor and you already know which other one, of his, that I'm crazy about. :-)
But I've enjoyed him in everything I've ever seen him in; films and stage work.
Didn’t bother going through the click bait crap. However, for Corman flicks, I’d prefer the 1962 version of “Little Shop of Horrors”. Jack Nicholson as the dental patient is hilarious, though looking back over his career, I’m not so sure he was acting ;).
Layer Cake
Heist (Gene Hackman)
Spartan (Val Kilmer)
Hudson Hawk
What’s that one Tarantino did? With Christian Slater?
I hate camp.
Vanishing Point
Gotcha!
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou.
