If you ever ask a PhD in feminist or women’s studies in what discipline they earned their PhD, they almost all answer “the humanities”.
Whoa, a classic! It isn’t clear what “performativity” is, to be honest, but I’m sure it has something to do with suggesting “practical applications that disrupts hegemonic masculinities and improves access to emancipatory spaces.” Got a little subject-verb problem there between “applications” and “disrupts” and “improves” but that’s the least of our problems with this one. Multiple masculinities that are hegemonic appear to be an issue on the order of toenail fungus, but I’m right behind improving access to “emancipatory spaces”, whatever those are. Perhaps a wheelchair ramp or swinging doors like in Western bars might help...

What does it say about our society that this person actually possesses a PhD? And you can bet your last nickel that in some way, in some amount, you and I helped to pay for it.
