In 2014, the city demanded that the 69-year-old Hadid, father of models Bella and Gigi Hadid, stop construction on the mansion, saying the structure at 901 Strada Vecchia Rd. was being built larger and taller than the city had authorized. The city again ordered him to halt construction in 2015.
City officials also said the building included a series of unapproved features, including concrete decks, retaining walls, basements, stairways and even a subterranean IMAX theater.
Despite officials pulling Hadids building permits and issuing stop-work orders, construction continued anyway, prompting the L.A. City Attorneys office to bring charges against him.
In the meantime, the neighbors say that they live in constant fear of the hillside collapsing.
In their lawsuit, Bel-Air residents John and Judith Bedrosian and Beatriz and Joseph Horacek urge the court to order Hadid to remove all improvements on the property and fully restore the hillside between his and their properties, bringing the slope back to the same condition it was in when Hadid bought the site.

I remember back in the 70s, some arab poobah bought a huge mansion on Sunset Boulevard, just west of the 405.
Didn’t take long for him to begin transforming the place into a monstrous eyesore.
The neighbors complained, the city cited him over and over, and even the local media picked up on it. Nothing detered the guy. It went on for years.
One day I drove by there, and the place was a burned out shell. I quietly cheered the brave soul who lit the match.

I never got close enough to see that, but I remember the statues out front. There were dozens of them.
They were truly gaudy.
that looks like it won’t quite meet the 50-gal water per person per day yr.2030 mandate
You take the one on the right - Thanks! ;-)
Actually I want neither one. The one I have is more than enough for me. 8>)
