Speaking of blood, here is a map of the freight distribution system for the U.S. A container once imported and past customs (I think customs is about as secure as the FBI) could go just about anywhere.

The railroad system had a good handle on telling WHERE a given container is, but they don’t necessarily have a good handle on what is IN each container.
