An 8-month-old girl was bitten by a family pit-bull dog and died from her injuries Wednesday in Miramar, police said.
The baby was in the care of a grandmother during the attack, Miramar Police Officer Yessenia Diaz said outside a home in the 2400 block of Kingston Drive.
Nearby, a distraught man was being comforted by two women.
The male pit bull was 3 or 4 years old and had been raised by the family since it was a puppy, Diaz said. Its sibling and mother, both pit bulls, were also in the home.

Pittbulls should be euthanized. All of them.
Dog of Pieces.
What advantage does a pit bull give their owner...knowing it can ruin your life with one period of uncontrollable aggression?
Wow. What another mere coincidence.
There are plenty of people who think they can't go any lower.
Eradicate the breed and make it illegal to harbor any.
Make owners responsible for deaths and injuries with jail time and huge fines....................
They are a ‘status symbol’ among certain ethnic groups......................
Pit bulls enjoy attacking the most helpless for some reason. It's in their genes. Kind of like some other vicious mammals.
I don’t trust any dog with small children.
We’ve only had Weimaraners, and they’re a fine family dog, One Weim we had we’d raise since she was 2 days old (mother dog had problems.) She was sleeping in a chair and one of the grandchildren was a toddler and stumbled and fell on her. She woke up, and snapped, missing the baby’s face by a fraction of an inch. Never did anything like that before, never did it again.
But small kids faces are right at the mouth level of a larger dog...so if there are toddlers in the room, either the dogs are up or heavily supervised.
The Dog of Peace.
I remember back in the day that whenever one of these attacks happened there would be a LOT of Pit Bull owners here that would come to their defense with a lot of “It’s the owner” comments.
I’ve not seen one in the last couple of years though. I wonder if most or all of them had their own close (or not so close) call with their own pit bull.
But the implications your analogy makes clarify the situation here.
The three pit bulls were there to keep the Tiger in check.
I would imagine a good jump and stomp could break that dogs backbone.
If I saw one doing this, I guess I would find out.
The last pit bull thread I read, had the second or so poster state he hated, with a vengeance, Freepers that would besmirch the name of the dog of peace.

Let’s get rid of these too.
They are okay if raised right. But not around small kids. Theyre not called hog dogs without reason. Very sad and pitiful.
Being a Hollywood guy, I actually spoke to one of the former producers of the Dog Whisperer a few year ago. You know what he tells me? Cesar, the host/dog expert is actually scared of this breed. He explained to me he would rather be in the company of 50 hungry Rottweilers than one Pit Bull. That BS about the owner’s fault? Lots of BS. Their DNA is just to kill.
At the very least a license and mandatory safety training should be required to own a pitbull.
Fun question what is safer, being in a room with a loaded gun sitting on a table or a room with an uncontrolled pitbull?
The beast that committed this barbaric attack should be skinned alive as should its owners.
The evil spawn of Satan should feel pain Im this world.

Sounds like the type of person that would own a bit bull.
