Googles unofficial motto has long been the simple phrase dont be evil. But thats over, according to the code of conduct that Google distributes to its employees. The phrase was removed sometime in late April or early May, archives hosted by the Wayback Machine show.
Dont be evil has been part of the companys corporate code of conduct since 2000. When Google was reorganized under a new parent company, Alphabet, in 2015, Alphabet assumed a slightly adjusted version of the motto, do the right thing. However, Google retained its original dont be evil language until the past several weeks. The phrase has been deeply incorporated into Googles company cultureso much so that a version of the phrase has served as the wifi password on the shuttles that Google uses to ferry its employees to its Mountain View headquarters, sources told Gizmodo.
Heres the relevant section of the old code of conduct, as archived by the Wayback Machine on April 21, 2018:
Dont be evil. Googlers generally apply those words to how we serve our users. But Dont be evil is much more than that. Yes, its about providing our users unbiased access to information, focusing on their needs and giving them the best products and services that we can. But its also about doing the right thing more generally following the law, acting honorably, and treating co-workers with courtesy and respect. And heres the updated version, first archived by the Wayback Machine on May 4, 2018:The Google Code of Conduct is one of the ways we put Dont be evil into practice. Its built around the recognition that everything we do in connection with our work at Google will be, and should be, measured against the highest possible standards of ethical business conduct. We set the bar that high for practical as well as aspirational reasons: Our commitment to the highest standards helps us hire great people, build great products, and attract loyal users. Trust and mutual respect among employees and users are the foundation of our success, and they are something we need to earn every day.
So please do read the Code, and follow both its spirit and letter, always bearing in mind that each of us has a personal responsibility to incorporate, and to encourage other Googlers to incorporate, the principles of the Code into our work. And if you have a question or ever think that one of your fellow Googlers or the company as a whole may be falling short of our commitment, dont be silent. We want and need to hear from you.
The Google Code of Conduct is one of the ways we put Googles values into practice. Respect for our users, for the opportunity, and for each other are foundational to our success, and are something we need to support every day.Despite this significant change, Googles code of conduct says it has not been updated since April 5, 2018.So please do read the Code and Googles values, and follow both in spirit and letter, always bearing in mind that each of us has a personal responsibility to incorporate, and to encourage other Googlers to incorporate, the principles of the Code and values into our work. The updated version of Googles code of conduct still retains one reference to the companys unofficial mottothe final line of the document is still: And remember
dont be evil, and if you see something that you think isnt right speak up!
Theyll keep thinking that; this wont stop them. Doublethink comes naturally...
Yes, its about providing our users unbiased access to information,
Unless theyre in China.

That is an insult to dicks. I wanted to like Wheaton, but he is, unfortunately, an insufferable SJW douche. Just read a bit of his Twitter feed if you really want to get cancer.
Wow. Just.... wow...
How queer. Curious and curiouser...
Goggle (spelled wrong on purpose) was always evil. However, just remember these people do not use words like normal people. Freedom is slavery, War is Peace are their mottos. Don’t be evil is simply interpreted by all employees at goggle as be evil towards conservatives, Christians, heterosexuals, and men.

Luk_11:13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
There is no sense in telling people not to be evil when they are.
A MORMON company??
Not “saying’; just doing...
I cant he blocked me.
He who studies evil, is studied by evil. He who searches google is searched by google.
Google moved from a search engine that used Dont be evil as symbolic for allowing unfettered searches where people had access to information to amassing all your personal info and selling you to deciding they were superior to you and controlling searches so you end up with the right point of view (which happens to be theirs because they know better).
Ironically, the anagram of Dont be evil is bend to evil.
Google stop lying about being evil—I guess they get _some_ credit for that. :-(
Technologically enabled cultural Marxism.
