59-year-old man punched a deaf pregnant woman and her service dog inside a Frontier jet upon landing in Orlando on Friday, Orlando Police said.
According to a police report, Timothy Manley was travelling from Colorado Springs, Colo., along with his wife Petrini Manley, 56, and Joshua Manley, 27, all from Gainesville.
Petrini Manley complained of being allergic to dogs as the plane descended and was being taxied to the gate at the Orlando International Airport. The service animal, a Great Dane, woke up and Timothy Manley told police the dog took up more space than [he] felt it deserved.
Timothy Manley then punched the service dog, Zariel, causing it to yelp. The dog shook its head and hid under a seat, according to the police report.
The 21-year-old woman and her 30-year-old partner, who is also deaf, tried to yell at Timothy Manley as best as they could, the report indicates.
Police said Timothy Manley then got into the mans face and punched the woman, who is about 20 weeks pregnant.
Two officers arrived at the scene of the scuffle as Timothy Manley passed by them, saying It took you all long enough to get here, according to the report.

This waste of space is lucky the Great Dane hid instead of taking him apart. I once saw a trained Irish Wolfhound (about the same size as a Great Dane) kill an untrained pitbull whose owner was threatening a friend of mine. Took about 2 seconds.
This fool is lucky if he just ends up in jail.
PS Im allergic to dog dander, too. But you suck it up. Have helped raise two wolves. Theyd have just killed this puke if he hit me. Had to call one off when someone just threatened me - but she was well trained and obeyed. If contact would have happened? Doubt shed have backed down. (She was mad at me for several weeks for calling her off.)
Best comment so far on this thread.
Funny you mention it that. Had another friend who raised Great Danes. They seem to think theyre still lapdogs - no idea of their size. Ufff. But if a passenger had a Great Dane and was next to me on a plane, Id be happy to have him/her sit on my lap. They really are in general very gentle giants.
Now Id find my sneezing for the next few days to be annoying (Im alergic), but it would be worth it.
Wolfhound is the biggest tallest dog there is.
Theres actually a federal statute. Hes looking at a LONG time in prison.
Still though we know how much room there is not on these airlines. They should have paid for the dog to have his own seat not crowd other passengers. I understand this man’s complaint. In the future the airlines need to force this if they are not going to give more legroom, which we all know they are not.
While I agree that too many people are abusing the service animal rules, the only animal that was out of control in this story isn't just nuts, he's friggin dangerous and should be court ordered to get a psych evaluation. He has dangerous anger issues and self control issues.
As a breed, yup. Some outliers in other breeds can match up. And wolves are stronger by a lot.
Back to wolfhounds, every one Ive met also thinks its a lapdog. But got used to 200 pounds of my then girlfriends dogs sitting on me. (Yeah, for some reason I keep dating gals with big dogs. Lol.)
Dog is a female and their weight is 110-140 pounds. Slept the whole flight. Hid under the seat after being punched so hard to believe too big. They had 4 seats so the dog was probably on the floor under 2 of them.
I am very sympathetic to those with true service animals - hearing, sight, intact strong bones - things we take for granted but if we were to lose them how much of our lives would be changed.
Great Danes really know how to get into their people and come to own them. I know, I’m a victim. Because of that, anyone who goes out to adopt one must try to find one from a healthy, long lived blood line. The breed’s big defect is all too many have tragically short lives.
A gender reveal party is where a pregnant woman reveals the gender of her expected baby. It is not about the mother’s gender. The woman who got punched is not married, but has a man for a “partner”. She’s straight.
Lots more information from this Daily Mail article, including pictures of family, perp, and Great Dane.

That is a freaking big dog! My Siberian is not that big! Am looking at Great Danes on Petfinder right now, man o man Scooby Doo was not a Paris Hilton mutt!
I don’t see how it was under the seat when these airlines have no room to change your mind. There must be more to this story. It was wrong for him to hit both the dog and the woman but still I think for a dog that big the airlines should require the owner to buy the dog his own seat!

my Rottie was 125-130
You aren’t allowed to be a free thinker in a Stalinist/Maoist state. Government is god.
**any number of believers are absolute churls to other people...**
Lots of folks say they are “believers”. God says that believers are known by their “fruits”. These believers know that they are at war with their own tendencies for bad behavior, and respond accordingly.
‘You arent allowed to be a free thinker in a Stalinist/Maoist state. Government is god.’
substituting one theocracy for another, and purporting that the one you approve of is true, is a rather weak defense of your metaphysical worldview...
‘These believers know that they are at war with their own tendencies for bad behavior’
everybody, at some point, is at war with his own conflicting turmoils; it proffers no excuse to use that as a defense against obtuse and arrogant behavior towards others...
‘Do you believe in chaotic randomness that creates you and the next guy and then you feel a societal need to cooperate based on your shared experience as nothing special?’
what created myself and the next guy is a natural process known as sexual conjugation, which is a necessity for propagation in the natural world; propagation itself is the prime biological directive in this world...there is little, if anything, random in the state of nature; its strictures are rigid and defined...regarding interpersonal cooperation as a social premise, I believe that shared experiences and empirical observances of how such cooperation improved the state of mankind from a tribalized bare existence to a civilized prosperity...any primacy ascribed to metaphysical interaction is, IMHO, superfluous...
still I think for a dog that big the airlines should require the owner to buy the dog his own seat!
The airline can not request this, ADA rules do not allow special charges for service animals. Forcing her to buy a seat would be a charge for the animal, not allowed.
I have a friend who’s dog was task trained in addition to K-9 trained for protection. She’s blind and lives alone. The training required for this dog was well into the $20K+ figure, if this fool had hit her, he’d be in a hospital or dead. He was lucky this was just a task trained dog.

Something’s gonna have to change! There is hardly enough room for humans on airlines much less a dog of that size or a baby horse! I don’t care what the ADA says they have never flown coach it would seem. This nonsense is getting way out of hand.
Plus the fact this man’s wife had allergies. I too have allergies to pets but I don’t care. I have my Siberian guard dog and no one messes with a woman who has a dog that looks like a wolf. A lot of people however, their allergies just can’t tolerate animals. One disability does not trump another. The woman with allergies could sue the deaf couple, and the airlines, if she gets sick from the dog.
This is what I hate the most about people with certain disabilities, they think they are the only ones who are “special” and don’t take into regards that other people have problems too.
