I have a friend that was evacuated because of this eruption.
This could go on for quite some time. We stayed at Kilauea Military Camp in February 1969 for a week. An eruption started just as we were leaving that lasted a week or so but was a pre-cursor to an eruption in the same area that lasted from May 1969 to 1974. We got some vog from it in Honolulu.
Ive been evacuated and our home is badly damaged. It will likely be oblitered before its all through. Got a team with scuba gear going in tomorrow to rescue some of our things.
Got this scap a little earlier this evening that gives an idea of how high some of the lava chunks are flying.
I feel bad for all the people who live close to all the activity and have had to leave their homes. There's no telling how long this is going to go on.
What is the impact on climate change? /s
I'm trying to ascertain who forced them to live there.
This is it Elizabeth. I’m comin’ to join ya.
Hmmm. Live near a volcano, then express concern over ash and lava ... Yeah. Makes sense.
What doesn’t make sense is living near a volcano. It’s like living under a waterfall and complaining about a wet basement.
When the sulfur dioxide hit my lungs once, it took my breath away.”
