Zoo authorities in China say a kangaroo has been killed and another injured at Fuzhou Zoo in south-eastern Fujian province after visitors threw rocks into their enclosure.
Local media said the 12-year-old female kangaroo was "pelted" with rocks by visitors, with a sharp stone injuring its left foot and causing bleeding.
Pics of the bricks that visitors hurled at kangaroos at the zoo in Fujian, killing one and injuring another. Zoo staff say visitors often throw objects at animals despite it being ‘prohibited’.
An autopsy reportedly showed the kangaroo probably died due to a ruptured kidney, after zookeepers treated the animal's injured foot but did not realise it was bleeding internally.
A few days later, a visitor allegedly threw part of a brick into the kangaroo enclosure, injuring a five-year-old male — but it is expected to make a full recovery.
Fuzhou Zoo's kangaroo breeder told Chinese media visitors sometimes throw stones to make the marsupials wake up or jump around.

Just more values that are particular to the Euro/Anglo West — treating animals kindly — but too many don’t realize aren’t natural and universal.
Worked with a Chinese guy. Told him I was heading up to my deer camp for my annual hunting trip. He said ‘no wild life in China’ (I assume he meant anywhere near population areas). ‘We kill and eat them all’.
It’s a cultural thing. Not a good one, either.
Around 1900 we took stock of the wild game situation in America which was awful, and decided to regulate hunting. It worked out pretty well

India is rather exceptional on several cultural levels—as is the West.
It is not a “natural” or universal impulse, particularly among men.

So true. And the Chinese are among the worst. One of the most disturbing things I’ve seen was a video of some Chinese boiling a live dog, I assume to eat it.

Maybe the infiltration of Christianity will cause some changes in the culture.

Not true. PETA Asia has been active since at least 2012. I’m going to assume you don’t visit the PETA website or FB pages, otherwise you’d be aware of their efforts around the world.
