Footage of police arresting a woman at a Saraland, Alabama, Waffle House shows authorities threatening to break her arm after tackling her to the floor. Chikesia Clemons, who reportedly refused to pay a 50-cent charge on her bill (for plastic utensils), is claiming that excessive force was used and is facing charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Actually Waffle Houses are fairly impressive. They are designed to withstand storms etc and have emergency generators. They stay open in storms etc. They have retirement programs etc. I enjoy eating there once in a while

My guess is that they’ve had folks coming in there and grabbing fistfuls of plastic utensils (for use later at home).
So many questions....
Charging for plastic utensils? $.50 for plastic utensils? They charge outrageous prices for a slice of cheese or a pickle, and that isn’t $.50. Pay it and don’t tip, she would have come out ahead. But, and finally....
Why was she topless? Does it have anything to do with the plastic utensils? the $.50 charge? or The police officer?
If I were the cop, I would have thrown a dollar on the counter for the utensils and scolded the manager. Then I would have made the lady put her clothes on and leave the joint. Ain’t nobody got time for that crap!

We avoided WH for a couple of decades but started going back probably a year and a half ago. The food is pretty good...simple, but good. The store bright and clean. The hired help is usually interesting to watch. Depending on your preferred seating, the food is prepared out on the open and in view. It’s an interesting place.
Breakfasts are good....................
It's a must do when traveling with my Yankee relatives just to watch their discomfort.
Waffle House is a fine indulgence for a lazy morning breakfast for sure.

And I find this quite hypocritical of her, seeing as she spent eight years lecturing everyone on how to eat healthy.

My husband snd I would eat at Waffle House when we were on the road.
There is almost always a waffle House around where a bunch of Motels are. The locals usually fill them up though.

My employer can't get our vending machine contractor to supply our lunch room with condiments or sports. They are stolen in hours.
Hood rats have what is known as the "packet drawer" in every kitchen. Stolen cpndiments.
