295 US airmen fired, demoted over using dino-puppet for oath Three members of the Tennessee Air National Guard have been removed from their posts after a video of an oath-taking ceremony involving a puppet dinosaur went viral.

Good!
THREE were fired over the stunt, not 295. That number (295) appears on the frame of the video, but it does not pertain to the story. 295 Airmen fired over a sock puppet would have been real cause for alarm!
Glad you cleared that up... I was shocked when I read 295.
The officer administering the oath is a fool for allowing a very serious ceremony to be used for comic relief. Hope he doesn’t have too many important responsibilities.
They should spend a few months in prison.
Thank you. Bad copy.
But she thought it would be cute. It’s the airforce after all.
WTF were they thinking?
They weren't thinking. That was the problem.
It's good that they were not enlisted and that who ever
was administering the oath was fired.
They know it now.
Good. Stupid bitch tried to make a travesty of the re-enlistment ceremony.
Hopefully, he's one of the 3 removed.
They never mentioned the TN ANG specific unit that did this. I took the oath every time I enlisted and never was there a time we didn’t take it seriously.
So juvenile and disrespectful!
The Colonel administering the “oath” was demoted to Lieutenant Colonel from full Colonel and was promptly retired from duty. The woman was also removed from her full time position in the Guard. It wasn’t clear to me if she still in in the Tn. Guard or not. The unit first sergeant who filmed this mess was also busted from his leadership position but apparently is still in the unit (for now).
Non funny joke...not really worth firing over. When you re-enlist they usually allow you to arrange the ceremony however you want as an incentive to get you re-upped.
Saw a guy laying in/half put of the #8 silo of an ASROC launcher for his ceremony in the Navy.
Looked silly but whatever.
It was done after the official ceremony was done.
That seems harsh, but this might have been a last straw for other lapses of protocol and decorum that were warned against.
I spent 23 year is the USAF. Bud asked me if I found this offense.
I said “Nah, its the Guard after all.” There is a reason the term *PRANG” is used to describe stupid ground mishaps....
There are some good ANG units and a lot of folks do a good job. I just never met that many....
