I’d give the book a positive review: It’s nice to have around when you run out of Charmin. It can also serve as kindling for your fireplace.
Give it the minimum number of stars to get in, and in the body of your comment say you really give it zero or one star but write that you weren’t allowed to record that.

This foolishness reminds me of how some Hollywood “blockbusters” are hyped to try and make them “blockbusters”. Now matter how much PR and money is tossed at a turkey, it is still a turkey. People figure it out.

This needs to be verified. Buy a hardcover book, wait a few days, and try to post and see what happens. I doubt this, but want to see the results.

I can understand an algorithm that would filter out “bad review” spam from people trying to ruin somebody’s life, but would such an algorithm be tailored to allow only 4 or 5 star reviews, or would they at least try to make one smarter than that?
So, give it 3 stars, then rip it to shreds with analytically accurate care comments.
I just checked and it has quite a few 1 and 2 star reviews.

Folks are misunderstanding the constraining algorithm.
It is NOT base on the number of stars you want to allocate.
It is based upon your book selection history.
If it determines you’re conservative, it won’t allow the review, no matter the number of stars you want to allocate.
