We are living in truly Orwellian times.
So if Durbin is a bad actor, then even if he is doing something “right”, there is an ulterior motive to it. What could that be, in this case?
Part of me suspects that MZ knew every question before he got it, including the ones from Durbin. I might go back and watch that exchange to see if I think he was acting when he seemed taken by surprise.
Speculation:
Durbin needs to establish that he is “tough” on this even though he is in MZ’s pocket. Best way to do that is to pretend to be adversarial.
Ask yourself this: Were there really any consequences from the questions he asked? Were the answers themselves unexpected? Imagine that MZ is the school bully and punching people on a regular basis. Then ask him if he would like to get punched in the face. No? Wow. What a surprise!
JMHO I think the left will begin to have moments of leaning middle...as a strategy for mid-terms.
There will be moments of sounding reasonable, to confuse and draw dems back in...but ultimately it is only for control to attempt to take Trump down.
All need to keep their wits about themselves and remain awake.
Oh, I think your analysis is spot-on.
I thought we’d read (here, another thread), the other day, that all of these ‘questions’ and ‘answers’ were provided, ahead of these ‘hearings’.
If I can find the source for that, I’ll post/ping.
Good point.
