Empty half the Earth of its humans. It's the only way to save the planet
UK Guardian ^ | March 20, 2018 | Kim Stanley Robinson

Discussing cities is like talking about the knots in a net: they’re crucial, but they’re only one part of the larger story of the net and what it’s supposed to do. It makes little sense to talk about knots in isolation when it’s the net that matters.

The 100 million city: is 21st century urbanisation out of control?

Cities are part of the system we’ve invented to keep people alive on Earth. People tend to like cities, and have been congregating in them ever since the invention of agriculture, 10,000 or so years ago. That’s why we call it civilisation. This origin story underlines how agriculture made cities possible, by providing enough food to feed a settled crowd on a regular basis. Cities can’t work without farms, nor without watersheds that provide their water. So as central as cities are to modern civilisation, they are only one aspect of a system.

That’s what UN Agenda 21 mandates. Two strips of high-rise prisons on both coasts of the US and wilderness in between.

Pack them in the cities where they can more easily be controlled...

When a nation becomes wealthy, the birth rate goes down.
So the solution to overpopulation is more prosperity.
But the Leftist are vehemently opposed to it. Go figure.

I laugh at people who propose things like this (killing off “x” many people) and yet want more immigration into our country...

When you double the population of a city, the amenities go up by a factor of 1.4 - whether schools, gas stations, hospitals. We become more efficient in resource management.
The same thing is seen with resource use. An apartment building uses less power per person for HVAC than suburbia.

If half the Earth was emptied of humans, wouldn’t it start wobbling and destroy the other half - I hear that islands are prone to being overbalanced by humans too.

Just another idiot with a distorted view of her own value to society.

Nitpick: a distorted view of his own value to society.

The irony of liberals’ multiculturalism:
* We need immigrants to sustain our economy!
* Don’t you dare teach them our evil, oppressive culture.
If they’re opposite of our beliefs and incompatible, well, they’re better than us. So they don’t have to learn how to sustain our economy and can be leaches instead, the poor little babies.

The underclass immigrants are a source of countless government jobs; the educated immigrants are simply tax revenues. Culture is irrelevant to a country that has erased its own WASP culture.

OK with me if I get to pick the half to get liquidated. Otherwise, a really bad idea.

“Leave Texas out of this. We don’t want’em.... LOL! Agreed ... just sayin’ we could all fit here.“ Understand 😊. I live on the north perimeter of DFW. And, the area is literally exploding. Can’t build roads, apts, houses, etc, fast enough. I’m guessing that within the next five years or so there may not be any open country between the metroplex and the Red River 😝...

The UK Guardian reports today that Kim Stanley Robinson, a "Save the Earth!" activist, hung herself from a large oak tree in a small downtown city park today.

Half the human population yelled out "Yes!".

And he’s married to Lisa Howland Nowell, an environmental chemist.

I wonder if this is her.

Philip K. Dick was an amazing writer—brilliant, creative—Kim Stanley Robinson, not so much :-)

For those who haven’t read Philip K. Dick an easy place to start is “Time Out of Joint”.

It was written in 1959—and could have been written yesterday.
