PRESTON, Idaho -- A school district in Idaho is investigating an incident that took place last week in which a science teacher allegedly fed a live puppy to one of his reptiles in front of students.
Local animal activist Jill Parrish is the one who filed the police report.
"What I have learned in the last four days is disgusting. It is sick. It is sick," Parrish told KSTU.
Parrish said a teacher at Preston Junior High School told her that last week after school, Robert Crosland fed a live puppy, who was reportedly sick, to one of his reptiles.
He has a snake and a snapping turtle. Apparently, it happened in front of students.
"Allowing children to watch an innocent baby puppy scream because it is being fed to an animal. That is violence. That is not OK," Parrish said.

The man lived with the bears 10+ years alone without issues.
The last year, he brought a girlfriend and the bears came in for the kill.
The bears were probably annoyed at losing their quiet time...
The actions have nothing to do with anything “natural”.
In “nature” the puppy’s mother or father would not have “fed” the puppy to the snapping turtle; they would have defended it against the snapping turtle.
It was a captive situation all around, not a natural setting and not what would have occurred in any natural setting where a puppy and a snapping turtle would have been found.
The teacher was only demonstrating his own cruelty.
I didn’t know the whole story.
Let me add. Maybe the bears were waiting for him to bring desert before having dinner!
He could have used a pineapple.....
One theory is that a screaming woman resembles the sound of a small wounded animal and attracts hungry bears to investigate
Where I used to work had a small water retention pond in back. For years ducks would have their little babies following them around. The ladies would go out and feed the little ducklings.
It got more interesting when someone put a big 40-50 pound snapping turtle in the pond. The ladies would feed the ducks and to their shock the ducklings would disappear under the water just like that.
Someone finally got the snapper out of there.
I think the “dinner” was Tim Treadwell or Scott Treadwell. He chose poorly because the food availability was poor at that time.
I don’t agree with this approach.
However, I have always thought that we should be teaching our kids how to kill, clean, and cook a chicken so they would be less squeamish. If that is too much, how to clean and cook a fish. Perhaps part of Biology.
That’s a helluva stretch. This has nothing to do with religion.
Many years ago I was at the San Diego Zoo with my wife and small son. We saw a display of baby chicks being hatched in an incubater. My son and all the kids loved it. I asked one of the young girl guides what they did with all the chicks they hatched every day. She looked across the plaza towards the snake display. She did say they waited until after closing to do it.
This teacher is a straight-out sadist, a very sick individual. He should be beaten to within an inch of his life, have all his fingertips cut off with tin snips, one at a time, and then jailed for several years. How could anyone feed a baby puppy alive to a snapping turtle, have chunks bitten out of its tender little body until it bleeds to death? Can you only imagine the pain of having chunks of your body bitten away? Just freaking sick. I read other news stories about how the puppy’s screams could be heard all over the building. And then the cowardly PC administration defiantly says they will do nothing to discipline this teacher! Oh no, this guy’s gotta go down.
Crossland should be placed in charge of designing the curriculum to help save society from raising another generation of effeminate milksops who need a “safe space” from reality.
“The teacher was only demonstrating his own cruelty.”
Well said.
According to the Artical, some of the parents thought it was perfectly fine to feed an injured puppy to the snapping turtle because it was showing the circle of life.
Well if thats the case maybe one of their kids should be fed to an alligator.
See how much theyll appreciate the circle of life after that occurs.
How many students were traumatized by that teachers stunt?
Hand = Pineapple!
I am going to bet there was surgery involved after that. Anyone who has seen these things in action would NEVER do what that dumbass was doing there.
When I was a kid, we flipped a big one over on its back using a long stick, then moved in to watch closer, thinking it would be like a box turtle on its back and it would just wiggle its feet in the air.
Nope. That thing stuck its neck out, rolled upright so quick and lashed out so. fast that we just missed getting nailed. Made my heart go pitter patter, and I never messed with them after that.
