Sadly, AI has dropped the Simon archetype and just looked for 3 Paula types.
Funny b/c almost all elimination type shows have had a Simon meanie but AI decided otherwise.
AI established the judge panel archetypes — the meanie, the industry insider and the cheerleader. Not sure if it will be back next year with this lineup.
But maybe others see things differently?
I think the judges are HORRIBLE. Of course, there will never be anything like the original 3 but I did like Jennifer Lopez after some time and LOVED Harry Connick Jr. This trio now is the typical liberal mushy feel good, all singers get a trophy type. Yuck.

It really has been disappointing. I realize we are still early in the season, so maybe things will change when we get to the top 14.
The article I read a few weeks back, suggested they were keeping the old format. This duet business wasn’t in the old format.
I wonder if they will use the same mentors next week, or different ones. I also wonder if they are going use themes like they used to, or different mentors each week once we get to top 14.
