Obviously still rattled by President Trump mocking his record-low Oscar viewership, a defensive Jimmy Kimmel blamed Netflix for the historic ratings catastrophe. Early Monday morning, Trump poked fun at the Oscars with a tweet that read, Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY. Problem is, we dont have Stars anymore except your President (just kidding, of course)!
An already defensive Kimmel fired back with this bit of fake news, Thanks, lowest rated President in HISTORY.
Actually, according to Rasmussen, one of the most accurate pollsters of the 2016 election, Trump is sitting at a healthy 48 percent job approval rating, and as of late has polled higher than former-President Obama did at this exact same time in his failed presidency.

I’ll admit that I watched the oscar pre show and a bit of the oscars but I fell asleep.
My observations:
Too much botox.
Women with cleavages down to their navels look like bodybuilders who want to show off their abs.
It was sickening to hear “the first XXX to ever win an oscar or be nominated”
When a guy mentioned his husband and a gal her wife...
Why would #metoo actresses accept a male shaped oscar?
Thought it was horrible kimmel crashing the movie theater across the street. It could have been someone’s only chance to see that movie.
Kimmel does not smile. He just lowers his lower lip to give the appearance of doing so.
Giving an award to filthy rich actors is disgusting. The award should have been different and given to a charity.
Kimmel’s side kick is disgusting.
Why would people go to movies? There’s too much political undertones in them. They’re no longer enjoyable and are too expensive.
Actors wore anti gun pins, yet they were protected by police carrying. hypocrites.
I bet the failures at the Academy hire crybaby Kimmel for at least one more year, just because of Trump’s tweet.
Then NEXT year will be the lowest rated Oscars in history.
Kimmel couldn’t wash Bob hope or carson’s cars. I would like to see Seinfeld take it, but the sickness is academy wide not just in the host.
He’s a true Hollywood parasite expected.
Making all that money and still can’t afford a shave.
“So, now he’s the Hillary Clinton of tv? Blame, blame, blame.”
Ha, excellent! Tweet that one to the President. Two birds with one stone!
THAT is the phrase I think is the worst. I hear it all the time like this: "History was made when xxx became the first xxx to..."
Barf.
Never, in the course of cinematic history, has so much, been spewed by so many, to so few.
It’s the Kimmel Benghazi defense. Netflix...blame it on a video.
Kimmel is a MEAN, JOYLESS ANTI-CHRISTIAN!!! And certainly NOT funny or amusing!
Fact is, the formula is gone. That was that people tuned in to see actors they liked being rewarded for good work on movies they’d seen. We now have actors who hold us in contempt being rewarded for indifferent work on movies we gave a pass on the way to the next comic book extravaganza. And there is no more perfect illustration of this than the transition from Bob Hope to Jimmy Kimmel.
Can’t stand Kimmel. Super lame to blame Netflix.
No one cares kimmel, that is your problem, isn't it?
Yes, he was funnier when he was fat.
I read a statement from Joaquin Phoenix the other day. He said he didnt care if people came to see his movies. I thought I bet everybody else involved in the movie doesnt agree. I am wondering if anyone will be interested in hiring Phoenix for any movie roles now.
Poor little Kimmel took a blow to his ego.
I have the ringing question what happens if Netflix killed the networks? Where would it get its original content? I guess that is what they are trying to solve. So far its movies barely exceed made for TV standards, but its series have been decent - especially Narcos and Stranger Things.
And I guess it will always, likely, have all that Australian and British content, which most of the time, is superb.
Someone once asked why there were so many British actors on TV and the answer given was they were less expensive.
IF that is true, that might also answer the question of why a lot of locations were in Canada.
I don't know the answer, but Stranger Things was just ONE of the well written series we've binged on.
The very first binge we ever did was LONGMIRE and that hooked us.
I like your thinking
Canada’s industry is unionized, but even so, apparently, it is much cheaper to film here. I guess the Hollywood movie workers have priced themselves out of many jobs. Yes, Canadian actors as well probably come much cheaper. Breaking into the US is a dream for them.
