After two days of the Conservative Political Action Conference, it became abundantly clear: The Republican Party is no longer the place for me.
I dont know what I expected, honestly. I knew that the Grand Old Party was now the party of President Donald Trump, that traditional conservatives such as Sens. Ben Sasse, R-Nebraska, and Marco Rubio, R-Florida, were now an unwelcome fringe and that stirrings of populism and nationalism were making the rounds throughout a changing party.
Trumps nomination dealt a massive blow to my political optimism, but for some reason, I still held onto the belief that the GOP remained a net good and that Trumps winning outweighed the white nationalist element of the party that keeps rearing its ugly head. Plus, my Hillsdale bubble kept me immersed in real conservatism.

This person is kvetching about the fact that the GOP Establishment failed to ram yet another RINO down our throats.
“Don’t know which one of them on stage is him, but I’m going with the guy in the space suit.”
I’m betting he is the third one from the left, that lil Hitler youth lookin’ puke.
Yeah that Wallace was a horrible person, except everything he foresaw in the 60’s has come to pass. Are the major metropolitan areas of the South, a better place to live, work and shop now?
Stopped reading right there. This is a joke. Sasse is a wackjob, Bubbles is a phony.
well, little student from Hillsdale. You all just told us in no uncertain terms that ya’ll weren’t mentally mature enough to own a weapon before age 21. That adults have to save you from yourselves. So why should adults listen to a student on what the Rep party is or is not?
Sorry about your sore vagina.
I had to reread that to make sure my eyes werent playing tricks on me. Rubio? Is he serious?
You're not a real conservative, Josh - you're a "Loservative" - a faux conservative who was willing to let Felonia von Pantsuit pack the Supreme Court with Lefties so you could wail about losing for the rest of your sorry loser life.
Take your mangina out the door of REAL conservatism, and don't let it hit ya where the Good Lord split ya.
I just love people who flounce. If you want to leave, leave.
Dont spout nonsense on your way out and expect to be taken seriously by actual conservatives.
As Willem Dafoe said in The Boondock Saints:
"What a fag."
I just had to Hillary-slap some phony "conservative" like this on Twitter.
Him & his #NeverTrump thumb-sucking buds cried about it, too... ;-)
LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
“The crowd went berserk. Attendees shouted ‘not true!’ and booed loudly. A protective security detail later escorted Charen from the convention center. The GOP has angered and disheartened conservatives such as Charen and myself by turning a blind eye to Trumps extramarital dalliances and boasts about sexual assault. When Trump and Farage endorsed Moore, it further reinforced the idea that the GOP was no longer the party of decency and moral character. CPAC attendees, and the GOP at large, seem content abandoning morality in pursuit of victory.”
This Joshua Liebhauser is a phony. No conservative would write this. No conservative would whine about the leftist boogey man “white nationalist.” That’s a leftwing term to confuse nationalism with white supremacy—two very different beliefs and values. Being against globalism is not racist.
Mona Charen is a phony too. She was more than happy to get on CNN to pretend that she is part of “our party” and to call “us” hypocrites about sexual morality. She is one of the many who piled on Roy Moore when no evidence supported the attacks against him.
My strong suspicion is that Liebhauser, like Charen, is a phony plant of the deep state with a mission to sow seeds of chaos and division among conservatives.
Something to be sorted out thoroughly after Civil War 2 is over.
What a putz. Good riddance
Yep, now we need more to follow him. Orconvert.
For :
Moderate Establishmentarians Politically Advocating Conformity
How is wanting to support and get back to our Constitution white supremacy ?
I’m thinking Joshua may be equating “conservatism” with Christianity, which it is not. Similar but not equal.
He finished with “Winning is not a good enough reason to abandon principles of decency, small government, property rights, and respect for women.”
decency? Has anyone heard anything about court cases against Moore? poof. nada.
He’s right about small government, property rights, and respect for women. He didn’t hear about the constitution. I can’t wait to hear the constitutionalists explain Trumps gun control: Take the Guns First, Go Through Due Process Second
Josh should check out the Constitution Party.
