After two days of the Conservative Political Action Conference, it became abundantly clear: The Republican Party is no longer the place for me.
I dont know what I expected, honestly. I knew that the Grand Old Party was now the party of President Donald Trump, that traditional conservatives such as Sens. Ben Sasse, R-Nebraska, and Marco Rubio, R-Florida, were now an unwelcome fringe and that stirrings of populism and nationalism were making the rounds throughout a changing party.
Trumps nomination dealt a massive blow to my political optimism, but for some reason, I still held onto the belief that the GOP remained a net good and that Trumps winning outweighed the white nationalist element of the party that keeps rearing its ugly head. Plus, my Hillsdale bubble kept me immersed in real conservatism.

Sens. Ben Sasse, R-Cheap Labor Express, and Marco Rubio, R-Cheap Labor Express.......
.....exemplify what is wrong with the GOP, they want to give away the country to fraudulently documented foreigners.
Dope.
Cool story, bro.
Josh, I guess you miss all the days of hand wringing and empty posturing that yielded no results. Buh Bye Josh. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Romney’s loss to Obama did it for me.
Changed my registration from the GOP to Independent the morning after the 2012 election.
Is Hillsdale anti-sovereignty and rule of law now?
Yep, when I moved to Illinois, I switched to Independent..

Conservatives like Rubio? Idiot
hey, I didn’t write it. I was shocked that it was written by a student from Hillsdale — somebody who seems to define “conservatism”, apparently, as open-borders globalism (judging by the heroes he cites - Sassefrass and Little Marco). I thought Hillsdale taught students, among other things, the importance of national independence and sovereignty. This kid must have skipped class that day.
‘scuse me, I didn’t write it
“Traditional conservatives such as ... Marco Rubio”
Who knew open borders was a conservative value?
buh bye...
Another rock ribbed Repub who voted for Hillary.
This guy is a comedian
Was that a RINO announcing they are leaving?
Wow, someone is actually mourning the demise of the globalist, squishy-centrist establishment wing of the Uniparty? Remarkable.
