Imus nearly lost his job when he called the UCONN Women’s Basketball team that had just won the national championship ‘a bunch of nappy headed ho’s’..................only his groveling apology to the women in person saved his career.

You can say anything you wish to say, but you will face the consequences of what you say. What’s the difference between Imus’ saying age related discriminatory things in front of an elderly man whom he employs and a CEO making sexual innuendos and sexist remarks to women he employs?...............

I agree. In the example you used, he had to save his career, but he didn’t have to save himself from prison. The latter is not an issue in the US (with rare exception, like inciting riots).

Nothing. And neither is illegal. But both can get you fired or cost you money with a class envying jury.

Who cares if he made fun of their hair do?
That should not be in anyway actionable.

It was Rutgers, not UConn. And he did lose his job at WFAN in New York and on MSNBC. He later got picked up by WABC and Fox Business, and from what I understand he won a handsome settlement with WFAN over his termination.

His legal action was based on very specific language in his contract that called for him to be abrasive and offensive on the air. Seriously. LOL.
