For a retirement present, one New York broadcast legend has filed a lawsuit against another.
Warner Wolf is taking Don Imus and three others to the New York State Supreme Court, alleging Wolf was let go from WABCs Imus in the Morning show at the end of 2016 because of age discrimination and is owed severance, as well as damages for severe mental anguish, emotional distress, humiliation, among other maladies.
Imus is scheduled to retire from his show at the end of March. He regularly makes fun of everything and everybody.
In the suit, Imus is the first one named as a defendant, along with WABC GM Chad Lopez, Cumulus Sr. VP Mike McVay and WABC program director Craig Schwalb. The claim was filed late Thursday morning, and a copy was obtained by The Post.
Wolfs lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor writes, Imus routinely made inappropriate comments about the Plaintiffs age, including stating that it was time to put [Mr. Wolf] out to pasture and shoot him with an elephant dart gun.
In 2016, the suit says that Imus replaced Wolf, then 78, because of his age and hired Sid Rosenberg, who was 30 years younger.

Imus has always had a huge problem.
His mouth...................
Let’s go to the videotape...Good times, back in the days before the evil-empire ESPN ran roughshod over everything, plays of the week, rasslin’ highlights from the Garden every month. More than enough to satisfy a sports fan.
Can’t believe that Imus is actually retiring, I thought they’d carry him out of the studio toes up.

His mouth...................
Does that silly age discrimination law also apply to someone who is way, way over the normal retirement age anyway?
Not if it says discriminatory things that are against the law.............
Imus is no spring chicken himself.
Well he warned you he was a wolf, lol. WW is just making a last grab of some gold before sailing into the sunset. Imus also exceeded his career shelf life years ago. Then again who cares.
I prefered Mike Breen on Imus back in the day. His old sports reports are radio gold.
When Warner’s false teeth come flying out when giving the sports scores, maybe it’s time to hang up the microphone.
Not if it says discriminatory things that are against the law.............
In the US, you can say highly discriminatory thing. Any law that says you can’t is unconstitutional.
Warner was great, Sid is an opinionated knowitall and Imus long past his best before date...hope Warner busts his ass.
“Imus is no spring chicken himself.”
77.
His faults are:
1. Vegan
2. Deirdre
3. Quit drinking....dry drunk.
No. 1 & No. 3 are the result of No. 2.
He is a Marine though.
Imus nearly lost his job when he called the UCONN Women’s Basketball team that had just won the national championship ‘a bunch of nappy headed ho’s’..................only his groveling apology to the women in person saved his career.
You can say anything you wish to say, but you will face the consequences of what you say. What’s the difference between Imus’ saying age related discriminatory things in front of an elderly man whom he employs and a CEO making sexual innuendos and sexist remarks to women he employs?...............
How much money did the ungrateful prick make all those years? Rob Bartlett in his various impersonations regularly made screw of Wolf’s age...and he laughed his ass off at the jibes.

Who cares if he made fun of their hair do?
That should not be in anyway actionable.
He’s not facing prison in Wolf’s civil suit, either.
I was responding to this:
“Not if it says discriminatory things that are against the law.............”
It is not illegal to say discriminatory things. Any law that says it is illegal is unconstitutional.
